Bottom VS-ON? Do you mean 5V-ON?

      Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off

Just shoot me. 5VON is .47 at idle and 3.57 during boot up. 5VDET is 0 at idle and 4.98 during bootup.

What does it do when it clicks off?

It just clicks off, no pops.

              Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off

Can you try disconnecting both Y-Buffers one at a time( I sm sure there are 2 upper and lower and, check the VS and VA, if any change

If the same, leave the YSUS but, try removing one of the fuses. If I remember correctly the Y-Sus has 2 fuses. and, switch to make sure you have proper Vs and VA voltages. The voltages are printed on a sticker on the back of the panel.

Also, if there is still a problem, the YSUS is somewhat simple to check. On the back of the
y-sus board, you will see 3 IPM (intelligent Power Modules), which have many pins. To test if one or more are defevtive using a multimeter check between ground and SUS-Out and, all other points. you should have infinity in one direction and some but, not much resistance. usually 400K or so using diode check. IF ONE or more shorts or near 0 ohms are found then you have a BAD ysus or, at least, one or more IPM Modules.

Just adding some info which worked for me many times with this type of plasma set

                Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off

5VON is the 5Volt standby. which the Main board receives and sends to the Power Supply to turn on but, it does go through an error checking part of the main board to verify that all is ok and to turn on. If an error is detected. You can use a 1 or 10 omh resistor to short between these points to trick the power supply to turn on bypassing the Safety shutdown circuit. to test for proper voltages.

The 5V-DET is the PSON or (Power Supply on) voltage source

If the set turns on properly then there is obviously some voltage drain, short or other problem.

Do NOT leave the power supply shorted for long because, it may cause additional problems

Let me know how you make out

I can help you you some help with this set with some but, not all assistance since,
I have dealt with this set many times

I have a service manual, which wll be uploaded to Tom66 site if you need which will give you a general direction as to what to check. might not be the same IC and test points but, you will, at least, have a general idea where to look

What are Y buffers? Yes the Y board has 2 fuses. The X board has 1.

Well the tech guy where I bought the PSU from said to switch out the main board. He asked if both fans were on I said no, only the left fan was on. So he had me swith wires from the fan and then only the right fan worked. This led him to believe the main board isn't working correctly. What do you think?

It leads me to think that a temperature sensor somewhere is glitchy. It could be the problem. It's also possible the fan connector on the motherboard is loose or dodgy - check for solder joints etc.

Just wanted to say that I also have an LG 60PY3DF and it seems to have the same issue. When the tv is plugged in, it clicks and the backlight comes on but then it turns itself off and keeps repeating this process of turning on and off.
Not trying to thread jack, just trying to help out and find a solution as well!

Most set that have cooling fans whether it's 1 fan used or 2 the main board normally controls the turn on and off cycle of the fans. The Main board cpu monitors fan rotation detection via feedback line from the fan connector and if either one of those fans fail to produce either NO or incorrect rotation speed the main board will then send power supply OFF command to power down set.

First question, should both fans be on at all times? The right brown connection on the board is the one that will not turn the fan on during startup. But there is power there just like the left connection. The other pic are the back soldering. I'm not sure exactly how it should look. Last pic is one ground wire came out of the connector. What would you suggest on how to fix this. It plugs into top of main board. Thanks.

If you can get a piece of wire - try jumpering from each 12V and ground line to the fan (test with a meter to find out which is which) and see if both fans spin. If they do, the problem may be in some way with the feedback. I must admit ot would be strange if each spin at a different rate or were turned on and off individually.

I know both fans work but only the one plugged in the left brown connector.

SO i turn the laptop on , and as soon as it starts booting from disk, from usb, windows, linux,HBCD,anything i boot it just turns off....while in bios menu or in linux boot menu it stays on normally...It's like when it starts to use graphics it shuts down...But i measured 0.72V while working on the GPU power line,no excess heat is comming from GPU or CPU, i even removed the heatsink and turned the laptop on and everything worked fine, got a bit hot, fan span to full speed, but it worked like that for few minutes in bios...

I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...

                                            Hello everybody!

Have in work A1706 820-00239 model. Originally no power, shorted PPBUS_G3H because of corroded C6403, C6404. Some water damage around this components, but nothing major.

After replacing this capacitors the laptop came back to work, I reinstalled MacOS and had no issues until I started to test Type-C ports. Sometimes the laptop shuts off immediately when some action with Type-C ports performed (charger disconnected or USB device inserted/disconnected). I checked Type-C port flexes, they are okay, but I cleaned them anyway. I can't see any signs of liquid...

                                            Hi. I have a pre-owned Dell Inspiron 15 7567. It worked fine
During the first 3 days of owning it until Dell Update software popped a notification about a latest Bios version 1.15.0 and latest Intel ME Software update of which I updated. It rebooted and firstly, Upgraded Bios from version 1.8.1 to 1.15.0 then it started upgrading Intel ME firmware. After that update, my laptop shuts down without notice (Like thermal shutdown)
I checked Thermal Paste on the processor and the Graphics Chip and it was dry. Replacing thermal paste has not helped me.
                                            Now I've noticed that laptop...

I have a Hisense 55H6570F that gets the the boot loading screen for android and then shuts down. Oddly I hear a crackle on the mainboard as shown in the picture - nothing looks blown. The tv will boot every time, but when it reaches the loading statge of the anroid logo you can hear crackling on the board and it shuts down. What am I looking for (other than buying a new set) ? Inside the square is where I hear the crackling
