    Philips 42pf3331 and 42Pfl5603d/12

Okay, here are my two problems:
The 42pf331 does after a while (sometimes 30mins, sometimes not at all) produce a high pitch noise, 18-20kHz region.

i was told this could be the core of a drossle vibrating. My plan is to glue em all when i open it. Suggestions?

    Second issue:
The other TV usually needs 4-6 attempts to start before the backlight lights up. The sound is OK, and after reading here, I understand that it is possible that its just the backlight not working. I have not tested this with a flashlight, as the tv is on now and will only produce the issue when it has been turned off for some time.

I tried upgrading the firmware, as this solved a friends issues (same as mine), but it did not work.

What info do you need from me now?

(no need for low tech-talk, I know my way around )

    Thanx!

Split the second TV into a second thread. It doesn't cost much, and saves a lot of confusion.

Next a single picture of each TV. We want to see the back so we can direct you if we need additional pictures. Make the pictures as close to 2000 x 2000 pixels as possible without going over. Attach them using 'Manage Attachments' - below the test entry area.

As for the noise in the 42pf3331, use the core from a roll of towels or a similar tube as a rudimentary telescope to isolate the source of the sound.

I know I'm going to hate myself for this, but have you considered the problem with the 42Pfl5603d/12 might be bad caps?

      Tv Philips 42PFL5603D/12 random fail
      by pat0te
Hi to all! first post here, awesome forum. Greetings from Spain. I'm a electronic technician but I forgot many things because I was working in IT all my life :-)

I got a TV Philips 42PFL5603D/12 (chassis SQ522.2E LA) without remote control and no history to follow.
TV has random failures. Sometimes, stucks in a rebooting loop showing white led and video and audio signals, then fixed red light (stand by?) for some seconds, then red light goes off and white light come again with video and audio showing just fine. This rebooting stages, has random working times.
      Another...

      Philips 42pfl5603d Noise
      by Cabbar
Hi! For almost a year now, a 13 years old Philips 42pfl5603d LED TV has been making high-pitched and loud noises from the standby light's back location (right bottom) when it's turned on for the first 5-10 mins. It is only connected to a laptop via HDMI.

During that initial time, the noise flactuates if the screen changes and lighter colors seem to increase both the pitch and the loudness. After approximately 10 mins, the sound turns into a weak buzz, and if I turn it off and back on, it's as if it has no issues.

When the problem first began, if I turned it off and on...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
      by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Philips curling iron - is this a common AC cable?
      by double_DD
      Hi all,

Wife has 2 Philips hair curling irons half defective - after learning how they're supposed to work and testing them, it turned out that both have defective power cables, and both on the same place; broken wires due to wire bending.
As they were both relatively easy to disassemble, and cables are plugged not soldered (as they can rotate in the handle), I was sure it would be easy to find replacements. But - NO! I'm unable to find anything similar on ebay or Aliexpress.

Not sure if this is something Philips proprietary, or a standard, but the cable plug...

      Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV problem
      by janos6662000
      Hi

I have here a Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV which came to me with a weird problem : without signal i could access menu, make a factory reset, access menus, etc.
When i applied cable signal to check image, i had normal picture, but TV was restarting.
I downloaded original firmware and applied the update, but the problem remained.
From a colleague i received a "factory package software" which is a lot bigger.
I made another firmware update, but still did not solve the problem.
Somewhere on the way the error got worse, because at the moment the...
