Sony KDL46W4100 Vertical Lines

I picked up this Sony KDL46W4100 very cheaply with the intent to fix it

It has an issue with strange vertical lines on the screen (image and menus can still be viewed behind vertical lines)

The past owner said he took it to sears and they said it needs a main PCB replace

I just want to make sure other people agree that this is the problem so I don't dump more money into this without fixing it

I have attached a picture

What do you think?

If the user interface appears above the vertical lines it is almost certainly a problem on the main board.

Can you pull up the user menu, then take a better picture of it? From that picture, it is not easy to tell if the lines are affecting the OSD or not.

Agree, if the user menu shows OK, then it can be the Main board.

I ordered a "new" main board

Same model TV, all same #'s on the two boards

When I put in the new board I get no picture at all

The backlight comes on and the remote and physical power button work... but no picture

I can swap in the old board and get the vertical line picture

But the new board gives me nothing.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Is the new board more dead than the other? Or is it not the main board at all???

Just googled looks like serial # of the TV the two boards was from might be the issue. My # is 9111167 the other boards TV serial was 9015662
