    Philips 42PFL7432D/37 can't turn on

My Philips 42PFL7432D/37 can't be turned on from either RC or control panel.
Thanks to PlainBill, I found the service manual.
I checked the Display Supply board at 1P11, found 12V, 5V, power good present. I also checked the Small Signal Board at 1B40, found 12 VS and 5V standby; at DC/DC (B02A) section, found 3.3V, 1.8V and 1.2V as well. 24V are also at the utility boards.
How should I troubleshoot this problem? Appreciate any help.

Re: Philips 42PFL7432D/37 can't turn on

Have you tried hooking up a signal source *DVD player, video game) and stepping through the inputs to see if you hear sound on any input? Also, the control input to the panel power supply is labeled 'Standby', which implies it goes high to turn off the supply, but that is not certain. The presence of the voltages you describe imply that the TV is on.

I have not traced all of the control signals yet. One point to look for is the control signal to the inverters. It would be embarrassing for both of us if I suggested replacing the main board when it turned out to be a bad inverter.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

I tried to cycle the power switch several times; once I was able to turn the unit on, then it worked as usual with sounds and pictures. I took the opportunity to update the software; wasn't sure it would help anything. It has been working for 2 days, will have to wait longer to see if problem comes back.
Original problem: TV wasn't able to turn on after disconnecting and reconnecting main AC cord.

So, you can occasionally, but not always, turn the TV on?

          Philips 47pfl6008s wont turn on
          by JorKsX
Hello. Got my hands on Philips 47pfl6008s/12.
Problem is that it does not turn on. Last owner said the problem came slowly.
One day did not respond to remote, had to unplug from AC and then back and it worked. next day had to disconnect 3-4 times before it turned on.
And then it went into hours of unplugging and replugging until it turned on.
When I plug AC into tv, it does not respond to "turn on" button or anything else.

After 10-15minutes the TV starts blinking red LED twice.
So it blinks twice, then waits 3 seconds, then again twice...

Lenovo Y700-17ISK turn on and off
          by pajdek
Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Trying to control Philips backlight manually with PWM — brightness increases with frequency...?
          by ohren
I raised the question of whether PWM on the power board "dim" pin would be a reasonable assumption for controlling the backlight of a Philips TV (55put6101/12): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...d-tv-backlight. I didn't receive any insights there so I went ahead and tried it.

          The setup is basically:

          Rpi3 hardware PWM → 220 Ohm → NPN transistor → dim pin

Transistor is switching the 3.5 V supply on the power board....

Philips 55PUS6804/12 turn on & off (probably backlight issue)
          by ovrax
          Hello everyone,

First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.

I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?

I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.

          No sounds.

          Thanks in advance.

MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX (MS-16R6) LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON AFTER RESTARTING
          by RdeveLabs
          To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
