Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
TLX-04244b the screen turns on for a second and then buzzes and shuts off.
I have fixed 2 of these now both times they just had bad bulbs. same 3 bad bulbs in both TV's. replace those and you are good to go..
If you really watch the screen when it comes on, you can see a shadow across the screen where the bad bulb is.

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
So I got home today and truned on the t.v so I could see the bad bulbs and it truned on but the light slowly shut off from right to the left and I started smelling something like electrical components burning. I immediately unplugged the t.v and inspected it and found this. So do you think the master board is bad now or what could have caused this, i;m kinda scared to plug it back.
I have the same problem. I dissembled tv and found 3 bulbs out which is what was shutting inverter down. I tried cleaning ends and moving around bulbs to troubleshoot. When I turned tv back on I smelt something and found the same burn on the master board plug. Now I have no backlight at all, Found out I cracked a ccfl and must of overloaded something. Did you find a fix for this (Master board replacement)?
Please let me know what you found.
Thank You...

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
You can use similar size bulbs from a TV with a cracked panel, you may have to solder them in but worked for me in the past..Leave a comment:

Where did you find the replacement ccfl bulbs for your TLX-04244b, and what size are they if I can find some locally.

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
I had the same problem with this tv (TLX-04244b) I found 3 bulbs out and 1 flickering, (seemed like the buzzing was coming from the flickering bulb). After swapping bulbs around I noticed the same smell and smoke (from same HV plug on inverter board) and after closer inspection noticed I cracked a bulb. Must need all bulbs in / good or bad because now Tv backlights just flicker a little bit. Thinking I fried something...Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
That is corect, there is 3 second timing circuits that detect if the lamp fired up and stay conducting, open connection (lamp not connected), over current, the inverter circuits will shutdown, it only take one bad lamp to shutdown the inverter circuits.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
What I found out with my LCD tv if the any of the ccfl lights goes out, the inverter board shuts down within a few seconds of starting. This was the case with my TV. One bulb was out causing this issue. It is a project to tear apart though. As you can see from the pic, there are 18 bulbs and one in the middle is out. You can also tell by the darkness of the LCD bulb.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
You should upload the pictures of the boards used in your TV first since we do not have the set in front of us to see what you have to start with.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
It was 12 months ago - perhaps pm the original poster and ask if he got it fixed.
Looks like he needed some bulbs and bought the onverter as well.
You could do some of the early testing as per the thread and revert back if you get stuck.
Welcome to the forum-
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Hi - I have the exact same model TV with the exact same problem. Can't really determine from the posts what ultimately ended up being the problem here. Were the inverter boards bad, was it faulty CCFL's, or both? Were you able to actually fix the problem? Wondering if the set is worth fixing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
I just bought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/180694085505...#ht_1794wt_895
hope they work, I think i'm going to have to solder them in.
I would sell it faulty, and buy an easy to repair TV like one with bad caps. I can get a TV with bad caps fairly easily, for around £30-40.Leave a comment:

Ok so i'm talking to this ebay seller that sells cccfl's and eefl's. He said I should put eefl's in. But how do I know for sure what I have now? I posted a picture of the eefl he sent me. And the other picture is what I have now.
Here the EEFL it would't upload here. http://s1212.photobucket.com/albums/...nt=TheEEFL.jpgLast edited by tom66; 12-03-2011, 03:27 PM.Leave a comment:

by Chivo77hello friends, I have a DELL LATITUDE 5420---MODEL P137G, ST 20TFKN3 LA-K491P REV:2.0 (A01) and its quite a challenge. It powers on with the battery disconnected, lasts on for about 15 secs, and then shuts off. It does the same with battery only (no adapter). With battery and adapter it sometimes starts after hitting the button several times. It displays nothing in every case. Since only the Boardview is available, I guided myself with schematics similar to this laptop (I'll add them down). Some measurements:

by ChrissygizmoHi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..
When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....
Any help would be greatly appreciated

by snimmitsGood afternoon,
I have a Polaroid P43D300.
It shipped with WiFi and Bluetooth.
Two weeks ago, I ran through the first time installation.
This did a full reset and went through the first time setup.
Once complete, I went to settings > sound.
selected Audio Link, changed setting from disabled to enabled, pressed green button on remote and the tv does a search (discovery) for Bluetooth devices.
search completes and doesn't find any devices.
I have tried everything I can think of.
Can someone provide... -

this is my first post, so if I make mistakes please do not hesitate to point them out, thank you in advance.
I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:

When I press the power button, the keyboard backlight and the display backlight are turning on. Caps key light is lightning, but key does not respond to pressing it.
