Did you test the fuses on the inverter board?Leave a comment:

So i did the paper thing both boards are buzzing but I can't tell if both or just one of them are doing itLeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Here's a test to try. Get a sheet of newspaper or printer paper. Roll it up into a small tube. Place the tube against your ear. Turn the TV on and search for the buzzing sound. It's possible a transformer is arcing over internally and the one making the sound is probably the faulty one. The resistance test isn't perfect; it can miss certain failures.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
So are these reading ok, do you think that the control board could cause this?Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Yes the part numbers are the same.
Master
Transformer T2. S1-S2 = 37.7 Ohms
Slave
Transformer T2. S1-S2 = 35.6 OhmsLeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
1) Is the slave inverter transformer the exact same part number as the master?
2) Let's measure the secondaries one more time, but now put you meter on the 2000 (two thousand) scale. Report these findings.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
I'm sorry i wrote it down in note pad and must of gave you the wrong numbers
Master Side T1. S1-S2 = 4.91 Ohms
transformer T2. S1-S2 = 4.92 Ohms
Slave side
Transformer T1. S1-S2 = 7.67 Ohms
Transformer T2. S1-S2 = 7.67 Ohms
And these are identical down to the last decimal placeLeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Or is it a cut and paste error?Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Ok so
Master Side T1. S1-S2 = 4.86 Ohms
transformer T2. S1-S2 = 4.86 Ohms
Slave side
Transformer T1. S1-S2 = 5.17 Ohms
Transformer T2. S1-S2 = 5.17 OhmsLeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
1) Your finding would be easier for us to interpret if you report it like this example
Master side
transformer T1. S1-S2 = 777 Ohms
transformer T2. S1-S2 = 773 Ohms
Slave side
transformer T1. S1-S2 = 774 Ohms
transformer T2. S1-S2 = 773 Ohms
2) Please perform the test again to verify your findings.
3) There seems to be a lot of people who are mis-interpreting their manual range multimeter readings.
A multimeter always gives a reading. "1" on the left hand side of the display means the reading is "out of range".
1.0 on the right side on the display is a unit of measure (i.e. 1 unit of measure). As you as you turn on the multimeter, it gives you a reading. There is no such thing as "nothing".Last edited by retiredcaps; 11-27-2011, 12:29 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Ok so here are my new readings on the Master transformer on the right I get 4.88 on both solder points but on the left one (edge of board) i get 4.88 on the right solder point and nothing on the end (edge) and on the slave side I get 7.59 on both solder points on the right one(inside) and of the left one(Edge of board) I get 8.30 on the right one(inside) and nothing on the left(edge)Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
1) Over at
http://www.lcdparts.net/T.aspx
there are 6 inverter transformers that begin with T51. None of them are an exact match for yours, but if you click on all 6 that begin with T51 (click on the buy now button), they will take you to a picture of the underside.
2) What you are trying to measure is the resistance between S1 and S2 (the secondaries - see post #7). As you can see, with the T51, the secondaries are on opposite sides of each other. Your job is to find the right one that will give a reading somewhere in the range between 880 Ohms and 2000 Ohms.
3) Since the resistance might be 2001 Ohms, set your multimeter to the 20K scale otherwise it will display a "1" on the left hand side indicating out of range.
4) Once you find the correct combination of pins, repeat for all inverter transformers and report the readings. All readings should be within 3% of each other. If not, you have a bad inverter transformer.
5) Remember to measure resistance with the power off and TV unplugged from the outlet.
6) PS. Clicking on "buy now" won't put anything in your shopping cart. It just gets you more info.Last edited by retiredcaps; 11-26-2011, 11:18 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
1) Is there a part number (or list all the numbers) on the inverter transformer?
2) Take a clear focused picture of the above.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Ok so I did another test and the left ones still nothing and now with using the 200k the right ones jump from 173.3 to 0.01.
I also tried disconnecting the slave and turning on the t.v no light and no buzzing and did the same with the other one and the same thing they both have to be plugged in for the light to come on.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B
Okay, so I'm stumped, that's the right setting, but I'd expect results of "6000" or something for typical inverter transformers. Try again on the 200k range, but that would be very high for those types of transformers.
Another test. While the TV is off, disconnect the slave inverter bulb connector. Turn on the TV. Do you hear the buzzing noise and does the screen light up? Try it with the master board (reconnect the slave). Does the same thing happen? The board that does not produce the effect is probably the bad one.Leave a comment:

by Chivo77hello friends, I have a DELL LATITUDE 5420---MODEL P137G, ST 20TFKN3 LA-K491P REV:2.0 (A01) and its quite a challenge. It powers on with the battery disconnected, lasts on for about 15 secs, and then shuts off. It does the same with battery only (no adapter). With battery and adapter it sometimes starts after hitting the button several times. It displays nothing in every case. Since only the Boardview is available, I guided myself with schematics similar to this laptop (I'll add them down). Some measurements:

by ChrissygizmoHi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..
When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance11-10-2022, 10:30 AM -

by snimmitsGood afternoon,
I have a Polaroid P43D300.
It shipped with WiFi and Bluetooth.
Two weeks ago, I ran through the first time installation.
This did a full reset and went through the first time setup.
Once complete, I went to settings > sound.
selected Audio Link, changed setting from disabled to enabled, pressed green button on remote and the tv does a search (discovery) for Bluetooth devices.
search completes and doesn't find any devices.
I have tried everything I can think of.
Can someone provide... -
by F R 2568Hello all,
this is my first post, so if I make mistakes please do not hesitate to point them out, thank you in advance.
I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:
If the laptop is only connected to the AC adapter (battery removed):
When I press the power button, the keyboard backlight and the display backlight are turning on. Caps key light is lightning, but key does not respond to pressing it.
