    HDMI Signal interference

I am running HDMI over cat 5 to a panasonic 103" plasma. Distance is not that far (about 15m) and signal has been fine for months.
Just recently, there is an intermittant, broken up, horizontal line rolling very fast up the screen that looks like analogue interference. It also runs through a HDMI switch but doen't appear on the secondary source. Any ideas?

Do you walk often over the cable, is it heavily creased somewhere, or have you dragged something heavy across the cable lately?

The cable is installed through a riser and from a rack. No chance of crush/creasing.

        Re: HDMI Signal interference

This is a situation that needs a "divide and conquer" troubleshooting technique...

        Lets consider the potential problems:
        1. The Source - Probably not since the 2nd display is OK
        2. The Switch - Could only one side be bad?
        3. The HDMI via Cat5 setup
        4. The Monitor

Unless the monitor is mounted up somewhere inaccessible, I'd try to plug a DVD player or other HDMI source in direct via the same input in question. See where that goes, then you know you are chasing a monitor problem or a signal transmission one.

I want to say ground loop, but not sure if that has any relevance since HDMI is digital. I do have fond memories of chasing hum bars running composite video to projectors over 150ft+ of RG6 though.

          Dear Santa.......

On a more serious note, it sounds more like a problem with the TV than the signal - have you tried connecting something near to the TV?

PS4 fat has inconsistent signal after HDMI replacement
            by supravit2000
            Hi, guys!

I am not a professional, all I can do is solder stuff on the boards, so I would really appreciate it if someone with knowledge shares his experience/thoughts on a problem I have with a PS4 console.

My friend gave me an original fat PS4, board model SAB-001, with WLOD, that has been previously opened. I changed the HDMI port, couple of pads on the board were ripped, which I connected to the corresponding caps/resistors? Just did so as in a shown diagram (one of the ground pads I ripped off and left it not connected). However, there was still no signal, so...

            Samsung UE65MU7003U / BN41-02568B - HDMI No Signal
            by natiz
Following a power surge, the HDMI ports on a UE65MU7003U no longer work, no matter the port or the source - it shows No Signal.
The other functions work well (eg Netflix app, etc.), its just the HDMI ports.

Is the BN41-02568B board salvageable? Any leads before I open the heatsink cover? board replacement?...

PS5 HDMI not outputting CK/DA Signal
            by Comp_Pro
            Hello all,

I am trying to repair this PS5 which came in with a shorted HDMI encoder chip. This issue was not allowing the PS5 to boot and would only beep upon pressing the power button. This is the first time I've had this issue despite replacing many many HDMI ports. After installing the new chip as well as a new HDMI port the console now powers on and appears to be booting all the way but there is no video output. Looking at my HDMI tester all signals are present except for DCC Clock and DCC Data aka CK/DA on my particular tester. These two have direct connections to the encoder...

Requesting Help For GA-970A-DS3 rev. 1.0, No Post code, no RSMRST# signal
            by AstutePauciloquent
Hi everyone, over the past few months i have taken a deep dive into motherboard diagnostics and I love the challenge. Currently im trying to learn all about the signals that travel around the motherboard, such as frequencies, enable signals High and Low logic states etc. And i have been learning to read and using the Schematics for this board that i requested here on Badcaps forum, from a few months ago, this is such a great place for these.

I’ve been working on a GA-970A-DS3 (rev. 1.0) that does not post. This motherboard has been my main learning board. I would like share...
