42PFL5432D/37 Phillips LCD TV Hissing noise, Please help?

I was driving around the other day and some idiot had a like new 42PFL5432D/37 Phillips LCD tv Sitting in his front yard by his trash can, waiting to be taken by the trash guys, I jumped out and had it in the truck within seconds, knowing how helpful you all are, there was no way i was going to pass this up! Alright, here is my issue, I have read all forums and posts on this site regarding this model, its had alot of issues, when i first got it, I plugged it in, it immediatly starting making a whistling/hissing/squealing noise, as soon as i turned tv on, the noise got louder, and was whistling pretty loudly, I replaced all the caps with axial leads (didnt have regular at the shack) but plugged back in, and was quiet for a few seconds then slowly started squealing again then got louder and louder, the buzzing noise is coming from a block type thing with yellow tape wrapped around wires, thats what it look s like to me anyways, not too sure, but could be the cap i just replaced as well, does anyone know what happens to these things or how i can fix this issue, i also noticed two diodes with a brownish color under them like they got real hot, and underneath i see a few spots where the flux melted from the solder or something because a few soldered spots have wet brownish looking liquid stuff around them, I am kinda new tho this stuff as i am sure you can tell, I have fixed about 10 of these with your help, but still learning, I want to go to school one day to do component level repairs on hospital equiptment and suchm thanks any help would be great

The guy who put the TV out for trash isn't the only person making a mistake.

        1. The power supply requires low ESR caps.

        2. Radio Shack does not sell low ESR caps.

        3. Don't use euphemisms. I had to reread your post three times before I realized you went to Radio Shack.

First, take an over-all picture of the back of the TV. Next, take two of the power supply - one a of the top, one of the bottom. They must be well lit, and sharp. Make sure they are at least 1000 x 1000 pixels but not over 2000.

If necessary, mark up an additional picture showing the areas where you spotted problems.

Attach teh pictures here using 'Manage Attachments' - below the text entry area.

Dead Thinkpad E15, hissing noise from BQ25710
                      by badcappo
Hello there, got a Thinkpad E15 on the bench, almost no vital signs. Only things: Power button white LED flashes several times when USB-PD gets connected (number of flashes varies from three up to twelve times, sometimes no reaction at all). Battery charge indicator LED stays orange. Most interesting is hissing / whining sound from Battery Charge Controller IC BQ25710 on the keyboard side of the main pcb. Board fuses tested and intact, no shorts found so far. BQ25710 is also the only thing on the board to become warm in thermal image (below 70 °C). Thanks for any hint.

Removing electrical noise introduced by fan
                      by tony359
                      Hi all,

I am working on a sound processor, it tends to overheat so I fitted a fan inside. The fan is connected to the +15V of the PSU via a DC-DC converter based on the LM2596 to reduce the voltage to around 10.5V.

Unfortunately the analogue circuitry is picking up the noise from the fan in two ways:
                      1. The fan is close to the analogue section, the motor itself gets into the outputs so I'll have to move it somewhere else
                      2. Even with the fan running outside of the case, there is still some noise which is clearly going back to the processor via power line....

Onkyo TX-SR805 noise in one channel
                      by MegaZAC
Surprisingly enough, this receiver doesn't have the DSP chip issue. The HDMI board does not get hot, and sound over HDMI works fine.

Regardless of the input, the right channel has noise that is clearly noticeable even on average volume level. The only cases when there's no noise is when VCR input is selected (some tracks on the board are damaged, maybe that's why), or if HDMI input is selected but nothing plugged into it. In all other cases, even when no input is connected I still have the noise.

There's some logic behind it. As soon as I select an input I get only left...

DynAudio DBM50 Monitor Speaker - loud hissing noise
                      by dicky96
                      Hi guys
I have a DynAudio DBM50 here - it makes a loud hissing noise.

It sounds just like an FM radio with no antenna (or tuned off-station). The volume of the hissing fades up and down, sometimes drops to almost nothing then comes back loud. It occasionally makes a loud bump noise too.

It does this even with nothing connected to the audio input XLR

                      Any suggestions?...

Philips HTS8000 home cinema noise problem
                      by courtcircuit
                      Hello

I have since a long time a Philips HTS8010S/01 which has been old but was doing the job.

Since a few days, it starts by making a weird "static" nois when switches on for a few seconds to a minute and then works like a charm.
Noise loudly outputs from the 3 channels, even if no signal is sent by the controler.DVD to the subwoofer/amp unit.

I was thinking of a soldering that was starting to be damaged and that was only doing the job after a few seconds of heating, most probbaly on the power board
                      Removed each of tyhe boards
