    Vizio VW42L HDTV10A

Hope you all are doing well! Been in the process of moving, but starting to get everything organized again. I'd appreciate some help with this one...

I have a Vizio VW42L with an AU Optronics panel that powers on with no audio or video or backlight (not even for a brief second).

Output voltages from the power supply:
    Power off
    5VSB present

    Power on
All correct for a brief second then the supply powers off everything except the 5VSB.

    Tried
I have two 42" Vizios right now. Both Delta power supplies use the same pinout, but they're different models. Tried the known good power supply in the VW42L, but the symptoms are the same. Checked all fuses on the mainboard, inverter and tcon. Also checked ESR of inverter and mainboard caps. Began checking mosfets on inverter, but many of them are complementary n and p channel Nikos P3004ND5G. I have been unable to locate a datasheet for those fets.

I'm uncertain how to correctly identify the fault. Any advice on what to check or how to proceed would be much appreciated.

Have you tried checking U33 on the main board?

A picture of the main board would help us help you. Attach using 'Manage Attachments' (below the text entry area).

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
          by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

          Vizio M65-C1
          by mrtek
          Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel

          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

          Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...
