    sharp lc-m3700 problem

ok i just got this in and im trying to troubleshoot it but im kinda stuck. ive uploaded a pic of what happens after about 30-50 seconds after turning on the monitor. that screen comes up and fades away then the power turns off and red light blinks. im not sure where to start so i unhooked the tcon to see if it would stay on after the 30-50 seconds and it doesnt so im thinking it might be the main board? your thoughts please.

On some tvs the power supply shuts down when you unplug the t-con board.

I never worked on a sharp.

I know the sonys will do that.

Looks like t-con or faulty panel.

the powerdown happens regardless of the tcon board being present or not. do you think it could be the main board? does anybody know what type of power should be going the the inverter boards?

Check the voltage regulators on the mainboard. Check if any overheats and check output voltages from as many regulators you can find.
You may use freeze spray to determine which is faulty / overloaded. If the mainboard uses voltage guard circuits, those can shut down the powersupply when detecting supply failure.

The t-con board may be faulty thus causing to power supply to shut down in either case plugged in or unplugged.

Inverter boards would be 24vdc. and normally shut down without shutting off the power supply.
