Re: Toshiba 42xv540u no power blowing top right fuse
ok so i have been checking some of the small smd resistors after tracing down some voltage and noticed r8626 calls for a 12k and its a 10.4..not to bad but then we goto where 25v comes in and at r8627 it calls for a 68k and i have 33k almost half. next resistor i see that is bad possibly is r8622 which calls for a 47k and it comes in at 22.7 im thinking that is what could be blowing my fuses but im not sure and would really appriciate some assistance from someone other than myself. im using the schematics from a few posts up.

Re: Toshiba 42xv540u no power blowing top right fuse
I have replaced the voltage regulator and still blowing fuses. So when testing voltage at that fuse after replacing the voltage regulator i have on one side 37vdc and on the other side using the same ground i have -37vdc but if i swap wires around im getting 37vdc on each side of where the fuse is supposed to be but not in. SHouldnt there be no voltage on the other side of the fuse. im totally lost on this right now.

Re: Toshiba 42xv540u no power blowing top right fuse
Ok an update I have installed the str ic and I'm still blowing fuses. Hmm when I take readings on the bridge rectifier my dc voltage drops from 160 to 123 and goes back up..is it supposed to do that or is it supposed to be steady? If it is supposed to be steady I may be looking at voltage regulator possibly.

Re: Toshiba 42xv540u no power blowing top right fuse
That ic is str z2589. Thanks for the diagram as I have been searching for about a week for one lol.
How would you go about testing the are z2589?Last edited by gmzombie; 09-17-2015, 10:15 AM.

Re: Toshiba 42xv540u no power blowing top right fuse
I've seen another post online about a bad r850 and Sr81 so I have taken them out and checked them. The r850 is testing a 2.0 but when I apply power to the board when it is powered up I can see that the relay doesn't switch at all.

Toshiba 42xv540u no power blowing top right fuse
Ok so I bought this tv for 25 dollars from a computer store since they just put items out. I knew it didn't have power and thought I can fix it. Got it to the shop and pulled off back to see that fuse is blown. I replaced fuse and plugged tv in to it blowing immediately. I started thinking and testing diodes and resistors. I've come to the conclusion they it maybe the bridge rectifier as when I take levels from it while it is off and out of circuit I get from positive side to negative side check,on the diode on my meter of course, all other pins against the first pin and 2/3 pin give a .450 but...

dell latitude e6510 led backlight issue.
Ok so I purchased this laptop originally thinking that it had an LCD not an led screen in it. The problem is it just dosent have any backlight. I can see an image but very dim. I tested the voltage on the screen at the test points by the cable on the led. I was making sure that we had 3.3v as indicated to have but I only have 3.10v. Could this be enough to not power up the backlight?. I tested the fuse that they say can blow and not allow backlight to work but continuity checks out on that fuse. I'm at a loss the laptop is only a few years old and I wouldn't suspect that the screen is bad already..any...Last edited by gmzombie; 01-05-2015, 12:54 PM.

Re: Toshiba 52HM84 DLP TV
yea im on the last page of that site as well. i think i found out the manufactor which seems to be nihon maybe. but havent been able to correctly identify what type of diode it actually is. i have another tv that is just like this but im not sure if there is any reading i can take on those diodes to reveal what tolerances it is

Re: Toshiba 52HM84 DLP TV
bump this for an answer on that diode with a purple or violet band and 46b on it. i am fixing the same problem in the ballast of a 62hm94 which has the same type.

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 400px Comm grade LCD
ok i know this might sound weird but i put it back together to check those voltages and now it works? I swear it didnt work when i put it upstairs about a week ago..could this be bad caps?

Samsung Syncmaster 400px Comm grade LCD
Ok i have this monitor and it worked great up until it just up and went black. Now when i shine a flashlight on the lcd i can see what it is doing so i know the inverter portion is possibly bad but i dont know where to start checking voltages. ive enclosed some pics of the ps board. as you can see the caps by the top right have been replaced once before. not by me....

quick question about changing cap uf and v
i have been doing cap kits for a while now and while i understand moving up a little on the uf and v is ok i just wanted to get your answer on this particular cap. i have currently a 4.7uf@50v and its pretty tall and fat. but when i originally ordered a sim cap it was small and skinny. but i have a 10uf@100v cap that came with my kit. would that be ok to install i know its a 50% increase to what i have
