Vizio P42HD screen flickers and frequently goes blank

My Vizio P42HD When powered on, it has good picture and sound...but then over next five/ten minutes, the picture starts flickering, gets wierd colors then blank. Unplug power cable for few hours then plug power back. Turned TV on and same problem happend again. Is the Y sus board caused this problem. Sorry, I don't know much about TV.

Can you confirm this model number? I have a P42HDTV10A which shows similar symptoms. Picture's whole and complete, but the image's washed out, and the backlight does show some flickering. I was originally going to post, asking if anyone has seen bad caps on this TV. There have been references to a bad Y-Sustain and a bad Z-Sustain board. Other people have gone as far as replacing the buffer boards, too.

Next week, I may be able to provide pictures of the image and the innards as well.

    Thanks for reading!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank

      Good Morning TV'ers

Vizio usually starts and works fine for a few minutes then goes blank. Checking voltages when shutdown it reads 5v on the standby pins on the PS and 12v on the 12v pina, backlights are out now. What can I conclude or where to next.

      Thanks in advance

Vizio V585-J11 & V585-H11 Blank or tie-die image on screen
      by mecha1166
Hello, we have 4-6 of these sets now. All have blank screens, or slow-moving colors (looks like tie-die shirt). Some have narrow white lines and color around it.
We have tried a new main and several tcons (2 exact and 2 similar). Same thing. Probably a panel - has anyone had this issue? These are fairly new sets, all but one came from rental.I own one, it was junked out. I tried searching for this model in forums but the search showed no threads for this model number. Thanks for any input!

      Vizio M65-C1

      Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...
