Re: Sony Bravia XBR-65A8F, no turn on
Forget all the above, the Tcon board connectors were unpluged. Once I plugged them in the mother fired right up

Sony Bravia XBR-65A8F, no turn on
TV does nothing when turning on, if I do a power/-vol and then plug in I have a solid green light but nothing else. I purchased a harvested Power supply and Logic board. Installing the PS had no changes but the Logic board gave me 1 white flash an 4 or 5 repeating red flashes.I tried a firmware update using the update file 3 times with 3 recomended files, no power, insert thumb drive and and power up, nothing happened.
Board vendor says board is bad and will provide replacement but does not have any. Sony want $500 with $150 core refund.
Am I on the right track or should...

Re: Sony XBR-65A8F Just Dead
Hi there, rookie here
Sony worked fine then died, sometimes is has a standby light and sometimes not. I opened up and ohmed out the fuses and checked standby voltage and all fine. I then checked out the voltages on the second connector on the PS and everything there is dead, TCON 12v and EVDD 24v. So does this mean the PS is bad or the MB is not turning it on?

Sony XBR-65A8F Just Dead
Hi there, rookie here
Sony worked fine then died, I opened up and ohmed out the fuses and checked standby voltage and all fine, does this point right to the MB or is there something else I should do next

Re: LCD panel sources
Yup that's the right number 55LG6300UQ. The TV was gifted to me while at the recycle center and the owner said it had sound but no picture. When I plugged it in it had flashing like a back light issue but also some dancing horizontal lines which I thought might clear up when the BLs were fixed, needless to say it did not. Still searching for a good used panel at "various" locations. lol

Re: LCD panel sources
HI there, is there a cross reference list to help find a panel, lots of 55 inch TV's in the recycle centers but no way to tell if the panel is the right one unless you find the exact model TV. The TV is a 55LG6300 UQ and I think the panel is a EAJ62628401. Hoping a Vizio or Samsung or some other brand might use that same panel.
Thanks in advance

LCD panel sources
I hear that panels are expensive and hard to find but is there a source that has them? Looking for a 55inch panel for an LG, just can not seem to even find or get a price for one

Re: Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank
Whoops on the LG, it has sound and flashing picture. That is usually a backlight problem, no?

Re: Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank
Well I was going to try and isolate to a particular cap or two and replace them hoping it was the larger ones but now the TV works normally after heating the caps with the hair dryer. Just a temporary situation, I am sure, so I think I will take the easy way out and just buy a board. Guys thanks for your help, I have an LG to fix next, lol, picture, no sound 55LB6300

Re: Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank
Well there are 3 different size caps there and 9 overall and since I don't have any and don't even know if the is conformal coating on the back of the board making it difficult I think I will opt for a replacement board unless you suggest the larger or smaller ones etc. Just thinking of the easier option here. Thoughts?

Re: Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank
Heating the caps near the connector yielded a steady ON and I was able to turn it off and on repeatidly. So does it come down to just needing a PS board or replacing the caps, there are 2 small ones and 2 larger ones.?...

Re: Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank
How can I get into those pins with that tiny connector? and if all were ok does it indicate a PS problem or a MB problem? I'm willing to buy a board I just don't know which one, maybe even Tcon
Update: The TV came up, with no jumpers, and I measueed across the big cap and it has 380vdcLast edited by pdsterns; 12-13-2022, 08:05 AM.

Vizio 42" M420SL works then goes blank
Good Morning TV'ers
Vizio usually starts and works fine for a few minutes then goes blank. Checking voltages when shutdown it reads 5v on the standby pins on the PS and 12v on the 12v pina, backlights are out now. What can I conclude or where to next.
Thanks in advance

Re: Samsung un58tu7000fxza - Power cycles with no picture, only backlight
Update: After blocking many traces I was not able to make any differences with the screen. I did have the instruction voice speak some different phrases about setup but there was nothing I could do. I carefully looked over the tcon strips but could not see anything wrong with them, I flexed them and tapped them but nothing changed. I think I am snookered here. Does anyone out there know of anyone who tries to repair these tcon strips? I just hate to toss this 2 year old TV
