Yes I know those pins are extremely small but if i succeed I will be feeling very good about the work ive done and $ I have saved. I bought this tv fried and sofar I have spent on a fuse, a restock fee, and the circuit/transistor kit. If I fail I wont be feeling bad about buying the master or having someone solder those pesky pins. Besides I have done plentyof smd's no problem... hopefully this will be a similar task.

I'm surprised you didnt just replace the board. I've replace this chip several times on different sets. It's a task that I wouldn't suggest taking on unless you're a pro at soldering.

What is the numbers on the inverter board you are fixing??

Fortunately yes. Instead of looking for all of them individually I just purchased the already assembled kit from ebay. 15 bucks ... sure why not.

Are you also getting the transistors?

100% sure its the master inverter.. anyone know where to get the MU1 integrated circuit?

yep, If there is no backlight, you needed to check the 24v line coming from the power supply and if you have 24v there, you can pretty much bet its in the inverter.

It would be nice to be able to SEE these inverters to know what type and what you should check next. Flying blind sucks.

The mainboard I ordered finally arrived. The components and numbers all matched on both boards pefectly. The only exception being the middle numbers 0472 and 0502. Other than that... same exact board. So I switched the boards out and still same problem. I believe, that eliminates the mainboard as the culprit. I placed my tv in a pitch black room as suggested and turned it on. No light what so ever besides the Vizio logo. With the lights being off I am asuming that it is not the TCON and leaning 100% toward the inverters as the culprit. Will check them out tomorrow and post findings. If so, is there a way to repair the inverters? Or , would I have to have them replaced?

I have not changed the mainboard yet DGtech. Still waiting for its arrival. The only difference in the fuse I replaced was the pigtail part (mounting). Yes I will have to get a meter. I want to check the caps and regulators. Hopefully my situation is the same as King's and I can follow his steps. This way I can return the main board I orderd.

We could have told you where to find the proper fuse and then we would go on from there. Now you are backtracking saying that the fuse wasn't really secure?

Post pictures of the whole set and then post pics of the individual boards, including the master and slave inverter boards (if any, would be on the right and left side under a cover).
Then go to wal-mart to the automotive section and buy you a digital multimeter for like 15 bucks. You will need this many many times and it's a decent DMM for the price.

I have no equipment to check wheather the fuse was the culprit or not so I decided to give it a shot.

Buy the proper fuse. The original fuse was a pigtail fuse; the replacement was designed to be used in a fuse holder.

hmm.. well, Im not 100% sure if I see a tint on the screen. Havent checked in the dark though. I almost feel like I see a dark dark blue color on the screen but my eyes may be deceiving me. Anyway.. which one is the lcd controller/Tcon? I see 2 inverters left and right, power supply up top, mainboard underneath power supply, and a small board above the power supply under a metal housing. I am assuming its the one above the power supply? If so.. what can I check on that particular board to c if it is the culprit? Any dead give aways? Also, Before and after I played around with the power supply... before, I would turn the TV on and the amber light would stay on for 2 sec then go back to a steady white. After, now that I have replaced the 6.3Amp fuse the lights are steady. I plug it in and get steady white.. turn on and get steady amber. It no longer goes back to white after a sec. of me pressing the power button. Does this mean anything?

do the backlights come on when powered on? It could still show a black screen with a tint of light. The lights can be easily identified with back cover off in the dark. If they power on I would suggest buying a new lcd controller/Tcon board.

Bridge rectifier identification part number KPB305G
    by Steph.hen
Hi all, a newby question about a bridge rectifier I'm trying to identify.

I'm in the midst of reparing a battery charger in work which went pop, The bridge rectifier has shorted and took out a couple of other components. The rectifier in question has a part number KPB305G, and it looks like it's obsolete. Does any one know what I could replace it with?...

Fujitsu Q556, What capacitor for bridge rectifier?
    by mpn78
    Hello

My Fujitsu Esprimo Q556 motherboards blew up. At least fuse, bridge rectifier and capacitor got damaged. I have changed fuse and bridge rectifier (DF1508S), but I don't know what capacitor it is (picture). I know that capacitors size is 47nF, but I don't know other specs for it. Can you help me to choose right capacitor for my motherboard?
There is 240V AC on input side of bridge rectifier and 340V DC as output on capasitors side.

    Thanks....

Reading input and output of bridge rectifier on the same scope?
    by EasyGoing1
I have a 40 volt AC transformer that I put a bridge rectifier on, and I wanted to see the input signal and the output signal on the same screen on my scope, so I set one channel up with the test lead on one side of the input and the ground lead on the other side of the input, then I used another channel on the scope and clipped the test lead on the positive side of the output then the ground on the negative side of the output.

When I connected the transformer to power, the wire that was connected between the ground lead on the second channel and the negative side of the bridge rectifier...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Diagnosing South Bridge (FH82H370) on Asus H370-Pro Gaming Motherboard
    by Ross Kohler
    Hi,

I'm learning about motherboard repair and I believe I've traced the issue down for the South Bridge on the particular motherboard I'm working on. My path of concluding that:
    - There's no sign of any attempt to power on when pushing the power button.
    - No PSON signal is reaching the 24-pin ATX connector.
    - The Super IO chip is receiving the PS_SWITCH signal from the power button and is relaying this signal back to the South Bridge.
    - The Super IO is not receiving the S_SLPS#_R signal back from the South Bridge
    - If I pull the Super IO S_SLPS#_R pin...
