37 inch Philips LCD No picture

    Hello Everyone,
All of the sudden the other day our TV screen just went blank. I have the service manual for this chassis but so far no joy. I have been able to get the power light to flash a code of some sort with the remote control. It just flashes a long blue light then off, it never changes or seems to finish. I had luck on my daughters plasma a Visio 42 inch when the power up board was clicking I replaced it and bingo. But with our LCD nothing so simple. I understand the standby and power up steps but am not sure how to reboot or get it out of a protection mode if that's what is wrong. In sort not sure what to do short of replacing a board at a time. There is a place to connect a tool to interface with a pc, but do not have the tool. If anyone has a similar problem and can point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated. Philips model: 37PFL5332D/37. Chassis no. EJ3.OULA (i have that service manual). small board number: 3104 313 61734, power board PLCD300P1, part no. 3122 423 31812. Thanks.

Note the links in my signature for information on the proper way to attach pictures.

No not post them inline, it slows down the loading of threads; use 'Manage Attachments'.

When referencing the model or chassis number, spell it correctly. It is EJ3.0U LA

Unplug the power for several minutes to exit protection mode.

There are several possibilities; bad power supply, bad main board, backlight failure. You don't give me the information to eliminate anything.

A couple of tests: With the back removed, watch the back of the TV while you turn the TV on. Is there a flash of light from the backlights? Hook a known signal source to the TV - a DVD player, video game, etc. When you step through the inputs do you hear the sound from the source? Can you see a dim picture when you shine a flashlight on the screen?

Measure the power supply output voltages after it's been turned on, but before it foes into protection.

      Hi,
      Thanks.
I found the problem tonight. The LCD inverter board to the left of the power board had a burnt spot with arc to chassis, also the caps were bulging. Thank you though.
