The tcon has more than 2 cables, only those from MB must be isolated, how do you think screen can be energized if not?

Yea I understand that Davi which is why I asked!

There is 2 photos below of cables currently detached. P201 from power board to main board and 2 ribbon cables from main board to tcon.

      This is as you wish?

With the cables as shown in the photos the result is the same.

I have also tried this test as well Diah and get the same result. There is no image displayed and no standby light.

So could this be a fault on tcon?

Re: LGOLED55B7V Clicking and dead screen.

With everything plugged back in. When using the RC to try and power on I get a very faint vertical line on the entirety of the screen about 1/3rd of the way in from the RHS. I can also hear the relay switching and have the same 3 LED blink then the relay again switches.

But at no point is a screen test visible or do I get a green indicator replacing the red standby light. So to me it’s not even trying to function correctly.

Am I fighting a losing battle here? Or do I order replacement tcon/main boards? They’re not cheap! @davi @diah what are your thoughts please?

            Thanks.

don't spend cent on it.. scrap it... you have OLED Cells short on Panel.... TV turn off because the T-CON send SOS SIgnal to MB MICOM to order the power boards to turn off... avoiding the panel get in fire caused by OLED cells

Well Diah. You are the doyen of tv repair on badcaps so I shall reluctantly do as you say.

This is a sad day for me! 100 of the finest British pounds flushed down the pan!

Thanks for your help and advice. Onto the next 2 projects. Luckily I believe these to be simple backlight issues.

Out of interest Diah, and to help me improve my own knowledge and understanding. Is there a way I can actually see the phenomenon you’re referring to of an SOS signal to the MICOM (and tell me what this acronym is) can this be detected using a multimeter?

Wait donny.. don't think someone is god and knows everythink..
i'm at work now so i might not follow you but i do, only to take a small break..
i don't know why you detach cables from psb to tcon, them are needed to feed the tcon as i already said, i don't remember well but if in this way you don't see test, it's probably because there is another 12v supply line that runs in the MB to Tcon cables, so what you have to do is to keep them detached but locate the 12v pins on one of the two cables, there are many and next to each other, and solder a thick wire (0,5sqmm) from 12VT/PSB to TCon 12V pins from MB..
if you give up it's your decision but it's stupid at this point..

for yours safety, and yours room didn't catch fire, don't play with this OLED any more..and don't try to run the screen Test as standalone.... you will get really fire.

Re: LGOLED55B7V Clicking and dead screen.

There are fuses on tcon that can protect from higher currents.. furthermore when few days ago the tv was working did not have any sign of burnt, now probably the tcon is in protection state due to faulty screen or faulty software/HW on tcon, so an oled tv can't be explosive, it can't catch fire immediately like a fire torch

Fuse for 24V rail (OLED driver at T-CON) rated 250 -280V .... fire will start on screen then the room too ... then fire police will arrive and the Fuse will never goes open.

cells mounted on film.. covered by thin plastic layers no glass.. on the back side of the film one layer white paper followed with aluminum paper to transfer the heat to screen chassis

Now I don’t know what to do for best. I am thinking to perform test Davi suggests of linking 12Vt to tcon and asking girlfriend to perform test with fire extinguisher on standby! Haha.

Hi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .
                                        is this...

HP Elitebook 850 G2 Win 10 with Intel HD Graphics 5500.

                                        Screen dead, but booting.

I connected it to an external monitor via both VGA & Display Port outputs and external monitor works fine, nothing with F4 or detecting another screen in settings.

Got a replacement panel, still dead & still displayed to external screen as before.

Removed CMOS & left it. CMOS reconnected, all as before, no panel, external monitor works.

                                        Got replacement cable...

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.
