    Tcl 75r615

New tv, new attempts. The post below is a very similar experience.
TV powers on, flashes on front backlight pops up, turns backlight off a few seconds, backlight comes back on and stays on, no picture.

Leds all get proper voltage, main board gets voltage. Sound can be heard with remote buttons and can turn volume up and down. Disconnect one side of tcon to panel and no half picture on either side when doing both ribbons.

TV was picked up free and owner said one day it was on and look back and it's just off. He bought his own replacement tcon and it didn't work. He gave me both. I've installed both and input voltages have 12v at fuse both sides.

Leads me to think Tcon or panel. Maybe he got bad tcon in mail also.

Any link on how to test panel strips or tcon better? Videos keep saying check vga, vgl etc but none of these are labeled at all on the last 4 icons I've seen. Is this just older tvs?

    Thank you forum! Having fun

See if the numbers on the white stickers of old and new tcons match.

The numbers aren't on the white sticker. Those are just random numbers these parts match 18y_r75*********

That's not how I meant to say it lol. I tried to edit wouldn't let me. What I'm saying is I don't think those are the numbers for board question mark? I looked and says TCL is on white sticker but I can't find anything like it. The only boards I can find , about 5, all have different white stickers and none match up. There's a chance of that many board types?

Appears to be a couple different t-cons for this model, the other one has obvious different components, this one looks like it matches yours: https://www.ebay.com/itm/11586709812...Bk9SR5C03866Yg

Can you put up good clear pictures of both of them, the whole boards?

Yes I will tonight. I can't find any other sticker on either of them, which is why I was confused. I'll post both up when I can get to them in a little bit.

Now, I have tested both TCons while they are in the TV and both are getting 12v and it seems both are putting out the exact .543 (roughly) volts to several pins of the output cable. There is also a couple 3.3v going out also. Just a note. I am not sure that doesn't determine bad tcon. I also tested everywhere for shorts on both boards and I don't see any. I don't actually and never experienced a bad tcon so I don't know but throwing that up here. 2 months ago I decided, im gonna fix TVs for fun and here I am lol.

The first 3 or the ones with screws attached is the replacement. This wasn't the original.

The second is the original without screws unattached. Took a picture of the origin backside also. No additional stickers on the boards

The only difference that I see is the numbers under the barcode of the white square there are a little different, replacement V41843D8K02B7, original V41843E9A01U4, I'm not sure if that is enough to make it incompatible or not, maybe another member knows or has had this same situation.

That’s the right tcon. They are both for a Samsung panel. There is another tcon for this model TV but it was for auo panel which you don’t have.

                            TCL has an auo model?

Anyway starting to think I got panel short also. Gonna mess around some more, any other insight would be considered for sure. Thanks all

Still doing some testing for maybe bad tcon. I have found this video that is 7 years old and not the same board but it shows a component with drain/source/gate and it shows how to test it. With the TV on this part is getting voltage. It says when video works it'll get voltage.

                              https://youtu.be/yTnkOfwBGGE

I have the tcon and it has only one of these components. It's tests fine on diode and continuity but when TV is on it gets zero volts. I have two TCons and gets zero volts on both.am I onto something here or does it really tell me nothing.

I have also tested several voltages past the tcon onto the panel and get 3.3v in several places and get voltage all the way down both strips.
