    STK795-811A vs YPPD-J014C?

    Hi all.
I'm about to replace the Y-SUS hybrid in a LG PDP42V7 and the original is fitted a YPPD-J014C. I read that the STK795-811A is eqvivalent aswell.
Is there any major quality differences between the parts?
Is the STK better than YPPD and may it cause some problem to substitute the YPPD with a STK?

On the ones I replaced I chose the stk over the yppd. I had the red speckles a few other people have talked about. The picture was still good, but I think there were other problems with the y drive I couldn`t find ( It was my first L/G (vizio) Make sure to check the power supply feeding the IC. The old IC would run about 145 degrees. I would check all the caps in the area around the IC.
These had bad caps on the 15 to 18v supply feeding the yppd.

Something tells me to stick to the original device.
God knows what may differ between the STK and YPPD and eventually result in sparks or similair.
Thanks for the info the check surrounding capacitors close to the hybrid.

        I know, old thread.

I have a blown YPPD-J014C as well, didn't check any caps yet. When replaceing this hybrid is there anything else I should worry about apart from electrolytic caps?

Other power semiconductors on the board seem to be ok.

Replacing only the YPPD-J014C works just fine. No other components were damaged...

            LG PDP42V7 / Palsonic PDP4275 Plasma - Maldischarge
            by sean0118
            Hi Everyone,

I saved this plasma from the side of the road because I thought it was a Panasonic, after getting it home and reading the label again I realised its a Palasonic. I think Palasonic is local to Australia, but its just a rebadged LG PDP42V7.

It has quite a bit of maldischarge when transitioning from a light to dark image. I know this is only a standard definition Plasma and is basically worthless, but still would like to get it working. Otherwise I'll part out the boards for spares.

I tweaked some of the voltage rails because they were...

Platinum (LG) plasma TV with no picture (blown Y-sus fuse, short on YPPD-J014C board)
            by Dannyx
Good day folks, basic problem with a Platinum (really an LG) plasma display that I've got on my bench (can't remember the exact model, sorry). I've put LG in brackets because all the boards inside are LG branded. The TV has no picture, but the sound is fine (that's what the client told me at least, since I didn't have the patience to lug this 100 kilo beast all the way up to where I've got the antenna lead). Opened it up and right away blown fuse on the Y-sustain board (located on the left of the TV, looking at it from the back with the cover removed). X-sustain (right side of TV) has both fuses...

            Proline 42" Model JV427A Plasma (PDP42V7)
            by angelos
            Hi guys,
I got in this set with a faulty Y-Sus board but i have brand new boards for this set so i swapped out the Y-Sus and tv started up perfect except for this.....
On various inputs the TV it is in "burn in" mode, cycling through a red, green, blue image and displays burn in at the bottom. If however i give it a input like my DVD on AV1 then the burn in image goes away and the DVD picture shows up perfect. If however i switch to "TV" input (RF, VHF & UHF) then i get a perfect picture straight away.
It is as if it has been set up in service mode...

            HP Victus 15-FA1025NL , board DAG3PAMB8D0 REV:D, shorted CPU DrMOS and n-mos
            by modtool
            Hi to all,
the owner of this machine gave it to me after having opened it to take off the dust from the inside, telling me that after that it didn't start anymore.
I found that one of the DrMOS (AOZ5016QI) on the CPUCORE was shorted between VIN and VSWH, and that one of the two n-mos connected to the power jack was shorted aswell.
I unsoldered the two shorted components and verified that there were no other short circuits, then decided to power the mainboard, firstly with the lab power supply, then with its original HP 200w charger, but the behaviour is the same, the board starts...

BIOS BIN for Acer Aspire 3 A315-41-R8TH (Model no. N17C4)
            by Neggo
            Hi heveryone!

I'm here to ask you guys about a problem I've been having with a laptop I just recieved. I came to the conclusion that the BIOS might be bricked.
Initially the PC did turn on, the fan span for a second, the blue light was on, then the screen was barely noticeable while turning on and off, so after searching online on local and other forums I found some other people having the same issue and saying it was a bricked BIOS. I have no idea what caused it because I recieved this device in a non funcioning state.
I will attach the bin file I was able to exctract
            ...
