    Proline 42" Model JV427A Plasma (PDP42V7)

    Hi guys,
I got in this set with a faulty Y-Sus board but i have brand new boards for this set so i swapped out the Y-Sus and tv started up perfect except for this.....
On various inputs the TV it is in "burn in" mode, cycling through a red, green, blue image and displays burn in at the bottom. If however i give it a input like my DVD on AV1 then the burn in image goes away and the DVD picture shows up perfect. If however i switch to "TV" input (RF, VHF & UHF) then i get a perfect picture straight away.
It is as if it has been set up in service mode to go to burn in when there is no input. Is there a way to disable this burn in test, service mode entry?? I don't know how to enter service mode on this dinosaur.

    PS: Photos attached

    Thanking you in advance.

The main board looks like a philips board so maybe try with philips service codes.

      Thanks

Help needed | Remove Power-ON password on Proline V146GNK (SU_GN100_MB_V12_20231120A)
              by justice171
              Hi BadCaps team,

I’m asking for a bit of community help with a Proline notebook that’s stuck with a Power-ON (BIOS) password. The laptop has very limited info available and I suspect it may be a local (South African) Proline board. Thought I’d check here in case anyone has seen this one before.

              What I have:
              • Model: Proline NoteBook V146GNK
              • Board: SU_GN100_MB_V12_20231120A
              • Serial: GN10Q12124205W1588
              • Notes: 12V main board. Very little documentation available.

              What I’d like to request:
              • Has anyone dealt with this Proline board before or seen matching BIOS/firmware
              ...

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
              by ttmi100x
              Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

              Upon closer inspection...

Insignia NS-43D420NA20 backlight on no display - LCD panel burn failure
              by howardc64
Eventually discovered a burn mark near lower corner of LCD. Here is a summary
              • Backlight on, no image
              • Disconnect right buffer board (view from front), left side display comes on
              • Masked off pin 7+8 (both ~12,5v on both left and right buffer board) from t-con to right buffer board (view from front) display works but have some lines
              • Buffer board is pretty simple
Removed the front bezel to examine edge of the glass. Found burn mark on lower right (view from front). Plastic bezel covering the burn mark region shows heat signature on the inside surface facing the LCD panel. Last 2 pics. Bright...

LG 60PV450 Possible Bad YSUS Need help confirming Diagnosis
              by PlasMatt
I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...

              AOC U27G3X strange burn-in
              by Tom41
I have an AOC U27G3X 4K gaming monitor that I use both as a TV and for gaming on a Nintendo Switch 2 console. Recently, something very strange has been happening to it. After playing a game that has an on-screen timer for a few minutes, the last digit of the timer (the one rapidly flickering from 0 to 9) appears to burn in on the monitor. Going to a different source or power cycling the monitor does not help; there is a constant flickering area on the screen where that digit was.

It seems strange that only that digit would burn in, and NOT the other digits that are changing less frequently....
