ok, so looks like the only thing working is injecting 3 volts, so if you can maybe slip both pin 2 and 3 out of the cable connector and apply 3 volts to each, might need to apply voltage to dim also.

Thinking its a mainboard issue, the ps-on is being sent but the on/off is not, can you trace that on/off signal back thru the mainboard?

same 3v on pin 2/3 the power supply works but the backlight doesn't turn on (I think you need a working motherboard for that)

I think this powerboard should be able to start alone but I don't know how it's done, maybe it did start and just can't seem to get the backlight on voltage to kick in for some reason. It's an interesting problem, prolly easy for some of these guys to figure out.

oh, with everything hooked up as normal, try the flashlight test, shine it on an angle if needed, hit the menu button on tv, see if you can see any text or anything.

try unhook backlight cable at powerboard, plug powercord in, see if you get a led on front.

ok, go to the state where you are getting the 11.3, I think thats with everything connected right? then see what voltage you have at the the 2 big caps there, a probe on each leg, check them both.

the voltage is there, honestly everything seems to be there, on the motherboard I detect all the voltages 12v, 5v 3.3v

maybe check that cable, make sure you have continuity from end to end for pin 2, give it a wiggle too, in case it's broken somewhere.

how is the bridge rectifier, the 2 outside are measured in vdc, the 2 inside are measured in vac.

see what voltage you get at the backlight connector, I think you measure from plus to minus.

maybe check all the transistors on the poerboard, they're labeled starting with Qxxx, make sure none of the 3 pins are shorted to either of the other 2 pins.

I found the power supply board at a good price, when it arrives I replace it completely hoping there are no problems on the motherboard too

always better to follow first impressions, it's a motherboard problem, even with the new power supply it's the same, I'll try to repair that or look for a second-hand motherboard

I'm pretty sure the 3.6v is your stby voltage. I would try jumping the 3.6v to the on/off pin. I bet that the main board isn't sending signal to on/off pin to turn it on. I just had this issue on a Samsung. Ended up being the CPU on mainboard

                                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Hello everyone. I'm brand new to the group. I'm trying to fix this Philips 4K TV. I have minimal experience with most of this so forgive me if I don't understand half of what is posted on these forums. I'm trying to find my way through it.
Basically I got the TV from a previous owner who said it just died on them. So I wasn't there when it broke. It will not power on, no lights, no backlight, no sound.
The output of the power supply has a 27 pin connection to the main board. Pins 18-27 (labeled P-On+20v) are the only pins reading power at 12v each. The pins marked ALL+3.3v, which...
