Re: Philips 75pfl5704/F7 No sndby power

    UPDATE
Okay I replaced the Main Board with a new one.
I am now getting 3.3V going into the power Board around 19V going out instead of the previous 0V and 12V.

I am not however getting any voltages at the Backlights power connector on the Power Board (Image). I also do not see any image on the screen when holding a light to it. It's possible that my flashlight could be too weak tho.

Any ideas? I will be scouring the interwebs for ideas...

PS. I need to also post that the tech manual in the first post is NOT the correct one for this TV, but it does show the correct power board model. I can not find a manual for my model TV (75pfl5604f7) sorry for the confusion. I would edit the name of this thread but I am not able to. Thanks

Re: Philips 75pfl5704/F7 No sndby power

The cable between the power Board and the main board is reading normal voltages at most of the pins. I cannot get Protect3 or either backlight which from what I understand are all a part of the backlight system.

Also the power on P-on-20v never goes back to the 12v when the TV should be in standby mode. As soon as the TV is plugged in the power on all working pins flows.

Anyone work on Philips TVs that may have a idea on a next srep?

So after researching a bit it seems Protect3 corresponds to the backlight and a possible LED failure.
I bought a LED tester but I'm running into another problem.
How do I test these LEDs?

Unlike most videos and posts on the subject the wires running from power supply to the strips are labled ILED 1-4 and VLED 1-4. When I test in pairs or using cold ground I get no response from the tester as if its an open circuit.

These Philps and Emerson boards are irritating.

        Thanks for your help!

Never mind I was able to test. Each of the 4 power lines tested at 54.4V with the tester and lights can be seen through the back of the TV.

Still no power at Protect3 so does anyone know what I should check next? Thanks

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
            by stylishconsultant
            Hi All,

            Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....
