    Samsung 32in LCD LA32A650A1FXXY

hi guys, i used the search function and couldn't find anything useful, if you know of something please post a link.

i have an older samsung 32in Lcd:
    Model: LA32A650A1F
    Model code: LA32A650A1FXXY
    Type: LA32A650
    Power board: BN-4400208A
    Main board: BN94-01767A

Problem is the Tv takes up to 6 power button led flashes to turn on, if it even turns on at all, the 5v standby voltage is solid the whole time, but when switching on the other voltages 12 and 24etc, they turn on and off (cycling about 1-2seconds) seemingly with the flashing led, when it finally turns on the power board voltages are stable and correct, i've disconnected all the other boards other than the main board and problem persists, i've disconnected everything except mains power and used the 1k resistor across pin 1 and 3 on the power board to power it on and all (5,12,24etc) the voltages are stable straight away.

Only thing i noticed is if i leave the backlight board connected and manually power the power board with the resistor the backlights don't turn on, it must get a signal from elsewhere.

I've removed and tested every cap on the power board and back light board, all test good via capacitance meter and esr meter. I have an oscilloscope for testing, but a beginner at that also, Id appreciate any advice.

see if one of the pins is labeled blu-on, bl-on, add another resistor there and you should get the backlights on, if working.

when i connect b/l and Det5v on the power board the backlight turns on immediately and all voltages appear stable, i have found a tiny cap on the mainboard that's measuring 6ohms on the ESR meter, but having trouble decoding 8B 1 50J, i have recorded some voltages for the the cycling issue starts for tomorrows test, it's not repeatable other than waiting a day. thanks for your help

update: i took the 1uf 50v cap off the board and measured in spec, put it back on.

i did notice that the on/off pin on the power board which is the same pin i bridge from 5v with the 1k resistor, it measures 3.3v when the tv is on, but cycles when the tv is in the faulty cycling mode from almost zero to 3v (this connector goes to the main board), kind of leads me to
think the main board is faulty here, what’s your opinion?

yes, I think you are correct, sure seems to be the mainboard at fault.

i was able to get the same tv and swapping boards im able to confirm it was the main board at fault, im looking for a thermal camera to try and narrow the specific fault on the board further

Ok, now that you have a working board you can compare some voltages between the two boards, should make it a lot easier to sort out.

                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Need advice testing a samsung power supply board with scope
                  by repair-it
I am attempting to test a samsung power supply board to verify the pfc ic is working. I am powering up the board with my isolation transformer. The board turns on fine but when I attempt to connect the ground for the scope probe, it trips out the isolator. I was taught not to 'float my scope' so I am wondering if I should test without connecting the ground lead or would that be asking for trouble? Not sure how else to test, I don't have a portable scope. I could plug direct to mains power but that would bypass the safety factor.

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                  by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

(SOLVED) - ONN 100012588 No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

                  ONN 100012588
Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

                  Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....
