    LCD panel sources

I hear that panels are expensive and hard to find but is there a source that has them? Looking for a 55inch panel for an LG, just can not seem to even find or get a price for one

Unless you are willing to spend a lot of money, normally it makes sense either to buy another TV or find a donor TV with a good panel.

HI there, is there a cross reference list to help find a panel, lots of 55 inch TV's in the recycle centers but no way to tell if the panel is the right one unless you find the exact model TV. The TV is a 55LG6300 UQ and I think the panel is a EAJ62628401. Hoping a Vizio or Samsung or some other brand might use that same panel.

          Thanks in advance

Not sure but one of those would be very handy to have indeed.

It is likely an LG 55LB6300-UQ.xUSWLRJ (where x=A or B) Prices range $1000.00 and up
what happened to the panel? Did you damage it checking the backlights?

Yup that's the right number 55LG6300UQ. The TV was gifted to me while at the recycle center and the owner said it had sound but no picture. When I plugged it in it had flashing like a back light issue but also some dancing horizontal lines which I thought might clear up when the BLs were fixed, needless to say it did not. Still searching for a good used panel at "various" locations. lol

You can try tape cutoff method for horizontal lines.

I don’t think it has a dedicated tcon. I believe this one is part of the mainboard.

There’s only power supply and mainboard w built in tcon on this tv

I have a TV, ( example ) Sony XBR-75X80G that the LED panel is cracked, does anyone know if we can take the LED panel from a ( example ) Sony XBR-75X80H and plug it in and it will work? Or if the panel measurements is not exact, can we take the internals of the cracked panel 80G TV and mount into the good panel 80H TV? Thank you

IR night vision goggles to find shorted panel line?
                            by Lee M.
Has anybody tried to use IR night vision goggles or other thermal imaging device to find a shorted line in a ribbon cable going from a panel driver board into the panel? I would think the shorted line would get hotter than the other lines and might just show up on a thermal imaging device. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if so did it work?

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.

TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

                            tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

                            QN55Q60R Service Menu Panel Help
                            by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
                            by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...
