by momakaMore eBay specials: this time a Gigabyte GP-P450b 450W ATX PSU for $8 with free S&H. Listed “For part/not working”, as usual. Showed up in a beat up EVGA box without any padding… but that's understandable given the total price. PSU made it out fine without damage. It's a non-modular (yay!), pretty modern-day looking PSU with a black paint and all black cables (meh, not my favorite, but figure it's good to keep a few of these in case I do need one for a more modern PC build, just so my old gray boxes don't look too odd in there.)
And a shot of the label:... -
by bauto601Back in 2020 i bought a (2nd hand) compact ATX psu to replace my current one. My PC case only fits very short ATX power supplies so i didn't really have the choice of buying a decent 80Plus unit. The current unit is a modded YoungYear unit that i made a thread about a while ago:
A "nice" YoungYear unit? - Badcaps
The "new" unit is a KDM-M6480 480W psu, the 480W number is a typical KDM bullshit claim of course, but the 24A rating on the 12V rail seemed reasonable and the "Active PFC" claim gave me a bit of hope that this was going to be decent-ish.... -
by AdrenalinTLHowdy peeps.
Can someone tell me where to get another one of these? google doesn't seem to have a 560uF and I am still quite a newbie to the whole world of electronics so trying to learn as I go. The one to the right of this pic is definitely swollen. PSU does random shut downs / no power on etc
Also, can it be replaced with a higher uF cap ? Same voltage?
Thanks... -
by aaronkatriniHi all,
I was looking to upgrade my main multimeter (Asita MD591) with something that has more features. I'll use it mostly for board diagnostic and diy repairs. I've been eyeing out many of those multi-function ones from Aliexpress but can't seem to make my mind up. Here are the features that I'm looking after:
- Autorange
- DC volts up to 30V
- Accurate Resistance
- Diode test (Beep mode)
- Frequency up to 200MHz
- Capacitanze up to 5000uF
- as cheap as possible
Other functions are not needed but those which are needed... -
by harpI have a little question regardless a way to repair ATX power supply CHIEFTEC MODEL: GPS-450AA-101 A. It is 450w power for computer.
The psu has initial short on +5VSB (purple), and I found and replace shorted diode SB340. After replace, unpowered measurement of all outputs seems fine. All other big double diode on heatsink are ok in secondary side. I connect psu with 60w bulb in serial, and bulb shortley flash as it would be. There is steady 5.2v on +5VSB and PS-ON, on any other is nothing, like 0.00v. So the primary is ok, right?
But, when I PS-ON (green) connect, bulb... - Loading...
