I have used this power supply since 2004 (got it new). Recently it refused to start on cold boot - this really got worse when room temperature dropped in winter (Australia). I would have to run memtest or let the computer sit on the dual boot selection screen for a couple of minutes, and it would boot if I then reset.
When I opened it up I found a lot of Fuhjyyus, mostly bulging top and/or bottom. The ESR was as follows:
4700uF 10V 0.8
3300uf 10V 1.2
" " 0.82
" " 0.96
3300uF 16V 0.17
3300uF 16V 0.06 (this one was not bulged).
I replaced them with the same spec Samxons (thanks Big Pope) except for the 4700uF which I used the same specification Panasonic FM for (managed to just fit it). I also replaced a 1000uF 10V near the rear exhaust fan with a Panasonic FM (I think it was a Teapo) although the ESR measured OK. The one next to it also measured OK - I would have replaced it also but it was 2200uF 10V and I didn't have a replacement as I thought it would be 1000uF, and I couldn't see the value until I took it out!
Since replacing the capacitors I have had no problems with the power supply.
Thanks for all the info here - made it much easier.
