    Seventeam V-Force 850W, any good?

First of all, wow what an amazing forum you guys have!!!

No where else have I been able to find so much info about power supplies as here. Had been looking round for info and advice on Seventeam and this place rocks. So much info and so much knowledge.

So fingers crossed you'll be able to give me some useful advice.

I am interested in getting an 850W PSU for a new dual SLI rig. Was looking around and stumbled upon a Seventeam V-Force 850W PSU, at what looks like a very reasonable price from here in the UK.

The other info about Seventeam has given me confidence that this is a good quality PSU and is up there with the other brands.

As I only found 1 review out there at pc frags review I just wondered if any one else had any experiance with this PSU??

Looking at an SLI system build with dual Geforce 9800GX2s. Not yet decided on the rest but figured I should start with most important component first, PSU.

    Welcome dualbooter.

I don't have any experience with Seventeam nor with the V-Force series: the review you found isn't a proper review at all, just connecting the psu on a computer and let it running for 3 weeks doesn't test anything. Serious reviewers open psus, check the components, test output for voltage compiance and both noise and ripple (voltage transients: they're dangerous for chips if exceeding specifications), check protections, etc.

Getting on topic, I found some inside pictures on the taiwanese XFastest forum: caps are Capxon, only average grade, and the fan is a cheap brushless one from Young Lin Tech. Judging from photos I think the psu is decent, nothing to praise nor to blame, but for about the same money (90-100 pounds) you can buy a Corsair TX750 which employs better and bigger sized components (see Jonnyguru's review) and can support a SLI of GT260: the V-Force is not the best bang for the buck at that price.

I shoeboxed my system build for the sake of monies. However I recently acquired a 650W V-Force. Also recently got a new digital SLR camera, my first Digital SLR (Pentax K-m). So here's my 'amatuer hour' attempts to share share some pics of this PSU.

Caps seem to be Nippon Chemicon, unclear what series it is. LXF/LXJ or similar would be great, but these may be KM*/KZ*, which also use a brown/white sleeve.

I can confirm they are Nippon Chemicon, smaller caps, such as one's by DC output cable are KZE's. Big one is a KMQ. Just peeled a label off and been squinting round the to see the markings on caps.

          Big one is a 400V 560uF.

To hard to see the real little tidler sized caps but they look like same series, KM. All caps are Nippon Chemicon.

Found a review from Germany, Translated by google to English. The output voltages hold real tight through out the power range.
