1995 Ford Ranger intera light and door sounding

This may not be the right place this but here it go --->

Awhile back a few month ago the itera light and the door ajar buzzer would not shut OFF
unless you remove the fuse for the itera light

There is controller that controls the following ---->
Which had bad 100uf@35 volt cap on the control boatrd

The windshield wiper speed and timing speed
The speed odotomer and the mileage meter
    The itera light

    More about this later----->

Then the dash light went out the dimmer controller failed the MOSFET or transiter broke lose from the board and on top that there two caps also on the board 10uf@50 volt ESR value of (3.2) the second one is 47uf@50 volts ESR value (3.7)

When it did work the dimming was not very smooth controlling the light level

    Now back to other --->

The mileage meter did not work because of a bad small stepper motor the gear sheared off
got one out of the junk yard and now that working again

Taking out this dash is a real pain in the ***

So now I can see the dash in the dark and the mileage meter works and the buzzer dose not keep sounding any more

if it's OBD2 you could probably use a HUD display to bypass most of it.

Heh, yep. Or do what i did and get a cheap bluetooth OBDII plug and use a tablet for your HUD. Not the smartest thing, but the car had no dash! it was completely removed to get to the heater core and had to move!

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

            How did I miss this?

I have a 1995 ranger myself. I've had and seen this problem several times. Common issue, somewhat easy fix.

There are two door switches in each door latch (total of 4 across the vehicle). They tend to get gummed up and stick, causing the problem. I suggest pulling BOTH switches and running some WD40 through them until the move a lot nicer. Consider this occasional maintenance.

FYI, One is a "door open" switch, which is the easier to access one (both are on the latch, inside the door panel). The other is a "handle pulled" switch used to turn on the dome lights if somebody pulls the handle if the door is locked, to scare off would-be thieves. In my case the latter stuck but I've read and seen both do them. They're brass mechanisms so they don't wear out... they just get gummed and stuck.

Yes it is. The ranger and explorer went OBDII in 1995. IIRC there may be a couple things not 100% OBDII compliant but for scan tool/ELM327 uses it is. It's J1850 PWM (41.6k/s) protocol like all older (pre-2008) Ford OBDII applications.

PS- yes the cluster is a slight pain to remove... I've done it several times between various LED bulb swaps, replacing busted Odometer gears (if you haven't, you'll want to the next time it's out, the ebay ones are a lot better), and modding my oil pressure gauge to true analog (pre-1987 sending unit + shorting the 20 ohm resistor near the gauge). Better than some vehicles though...

then you should clean them out with IPA or some other de-greasing solvent,
then lube them with powdered graphite - you can buy it from locksmiths.

Lift Master garage door opener with WiFi capability application through your phone
                  by sam_sam_sam
I had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )

This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or...

Help with 2002 Ford Ranger blower motor
                  by SluggerB
So I picked up this little truck, and the blower motor does not work correctly. There are 4 settings, Low, Med-Low,Med-High, and Max. The issue is Low, Med-Low, and Med-High ALL act like Low. Max works like Max.

So research tells me it is the resistor block for the blower motor. So I change that. Still works the exact same. More research tells me the plug going into the Resistor block often gets corroded and faulty, so I change that. Still works the exact same. More research says sometime the switch in the cab goes faulty. I replace that. STILL WORKS THE SAME.

                  From...

I have been having issues with this garage door opener for a while first the range of the remote was a lot less and sometimes it would start to go down and stop for no reason that I could find and would every once in awhile to start with then it started going more frequently until last Saturday when I opened the garage door it refused to close so I cranked up force all the way maximum limit this did not work also the sensor on one side that has a green and red lights that are supposed to be on when the door is open and there are no obstacles in the way on the original board the only light that...

Linear Garage Door Opener Control Board Repair weak capacitors
                  by sam_sam_sam
I was having issues with the controller not always responding to remote control signal having to hold button until garage door started to move

Now after replacing the two capacitors on the two 5 volt power supply rails

One is used for the up/down limit up/down force circuits

Second one is used for the radio receiver circuit

The main filtering capacitor ESR value was a little higher than a new one

Lift Master Garage Door wall switch display / motion sensor controller display disappeared no back light
                  by sam_sam_sam
This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...
