    My new baby!

    My new $10 system.....

    9 drives ranging fro 9.1gig U160 10k to 36gig U320 15k Seagates

    Redundant Etasis 400W

    CUR-DLS Dual 1 ghz PIII, 1 meg ECC PC133, Adaptec 3400s RAID

Now you know why I have it.

Notice the fine quality Fujyyu craptasticor case is no longer fully enclosing its insides. What a POS.

    My only question is WHY!!!!!!!!!!

The PSU looks well built. Check out the resonant transient filter from High and Low corp. Those don't come very cheap.

Damn.....that is one nice system for the money. The hard drives are small, however everything else is gold!! Good find!

in the main chassis you will find the +3.3 reg and more fuhkkyu caps.
at least thats how my emacs redundant is built.

Rubycons! I'll probably leave those alone. The p/s(s) also have a few Rubycon sprinkled around.

My Emacs supply does have Fujjyu on the backplane.

These are good supplies, but imagine how disappointed you are to find cheap caps in your $100 p/s. These ran $400-$600 new. I would be wholly and unequivocally pissed!

Maybe the capacitors were impregnated by a face hugger like that guy from Alien and its trying to burst out the vent .

But seriously on a nice supply like that crapping out on the caps is really sad.

The least they could have done was Teapos or OSTs .

I seriously hope that the Fukyuu factory makes their caps even cheaper and they fail at such an alarming rate.

That they go out of business due to lack of sales so we don't have to see their junk anymore.

              I can dream I guess .

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

A server PSU with Fuhjyyu? Now I've seen everything. Makes me want to see what I can build servers for, with good caps.

                Spacedye69, I would direct your attention to the Digi-Key catalog, pages 1417 - 1420.
A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

This psu and the Emacs 300 + 300 I have both have Fuhjjyu. I have found them in Enhance, Enlight, FSP, an CWT built supplies also. Many good mfrs were wooed by the good specs/low price when new without the proper time gived for long term testing. Ah the good old days when psu meant Deltas with Nichicon PLs.

                    Re: My new baby!

Looks to me like an Intel Columbus or Astor II chassis.

The more recent intel SC5000 and SC5100 chassis are virtually
identical, certainly that is taking account of the HDD arrays.

Furthemore, the mobo looks like an Intel STL2 with a RAID
controller thrown in - good call!

                    Can't complain for $10 - really!

We still have servers like that in production
                      Ludicrous gibs!
