Question about ATNG rebadged PSUs

Over here in Norway, there's a brand of PSU being sold under the name MIST. (500 and 600W models, sold as Cooltek other parts of Scandinavia). It's apparently manufactured by ATNG, and I seem to get the impression from posts on this forum that this manufacturer has a less than stellar track record. The MIST PSUs have garnered a lot of good criticism from review sites here, but that usually because they've never looked at the internals, nor investigated the source/background of these rebranded PSUs. Another reason for the good reviews is that they come with silent fans. (But I guess that doesn't really help when the rest of the PSU isn't up to par)

In time, many of these PSUs have failed (even though they appear perfectly stable when brand new), obviously because the capacitors in them are of plain bad quality. (Fuhjyyus have been spotted in some 500W models).

So I guess the question is, does anyone know if ATNGs are like this all over the board, or if there are some that aren't?

Never heard of ATNG, but it may be another avatar of a better known OEM elsewhere. Post some pics of internals if you can - the design styles and labelling can help with identification.

ATNG make a wide variety of units for various cost brackets. They OEM for Coolermaster (among the well known brands). Quality depends on what you pay for. Some units are solid while others have corners cut. It is a mixed bag.

Ok. These units retail for around $130-180 here in Norway (I guess you could cut the price with about 35% to get what would be an equivalent price in the US, things are normally more expensive here). They also seem to be prone to coil buzz/whine, but any PSU could start to suffer from that I guess.

i found an atng unit in a customers pc based cnc plasma cutter last week.
it had jun fu caps(blown) and no rfi/emi filtering.
typical gutless wonder.
it went directly to the scrap metal bin.

Well, I couldn't find any decent pics of the internals of the PSU in question, but as far as I can tell, it's based on the 500 and 600W models of this design.
