    PSU killing components?

    Hi everyone! Been a while!

So I have a CM MWE 750 Bronze - V2 PSU powering the following:

    Ryzen 5 3400G
    Gigabyte B450 Auorus Motherboard
    32GB DDR4-3600 (2x16)
    ASUS TUF 1660 TI 6GB DDR6
    1TB NVME

This was purchased by a friend about 3 years ago for her kid and now it showing signs of instability. The PC had this problem of the screen becoming garbled after it was booted up and idling in Windows. It also sometimes gets a BSOD. So I did some stress test by starting with Prime 95 and noticed that the torture test just fails and stops immediately. Thinking this was a processor-related issue I replaced said processor with a spare Ryzen 5 2600 I had lying around and instability went away.

Two weeks pass by and all was well but then 1660 is now having issues. Did some basic tests and narrowed it down to the video card going into a black screen after 7 minutes or more while idling in Windows or on the BIOS screen. I turn it off and let it cool off for 10 minutes and turn it back on again and the same black screen problem occurs after 7 minutes or more. Already had the thermal pads and paste replaced but the same black screen issue comes up. So I replaced the video card a spare I had and all seem to be working well.

However, I'm starting to think that the CM PSU is killing components and I'm not sure I want to continue using it. Should I replace it at this point? Or are there other tests I need to do with he PSU in order to be sure that it is not the one killing components? Maybe even open it up and do a visual check?

Thanks in advance for any insights into this.

you could open the psu and post pics of it,
but unless caps are blatantly domed you really need to scope it.

or use a different psu and see if the issues go away.
also make sure it's all clean - these newer boards with tiny parts are more sensitive to dust building up on them.

is the psu under warranty? if it is then dont open it - try a different psu and if everything is good then get it exchanged.
my Seasonic psu's have a 10year warranty on them

This doesn’t make much sense to me. Usually power supplies behave better once they are running and warm up.
boot up Linux from a stick and test from there see if any behaviour changes.

HP Probook 640 G5 - replaced blown components, getting power led, fan full, 5-flashes on CAPS Lock and NUM lock, black screen
        by zlr8r
Hey guys, bit stumped with this laptop after replacing 2 blown components i.e., MP86493, MP2979A.

To begin with, this laptop was dead-dead.

        Now with replaced (visibly) blown components, i do get some progress; after connecting battery or main cable;
        • am getting white power led
        • 5-long-flashes on CAPS Lock and NUM lock
        • then, fan full speed
        • CPU heats up some (smaller die PCH, does not)
        • always constant black screen no matter what's tried
        • no USB recognition
        • no HDMI output
this is as far as I can get with it and not sure where to inspect next ?

        I tried...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
        by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

        Hi All,

We've got a HP Envy 12th gen that has been dropped and the LCD panel itself has cracked. The glass is fine just the panel itself is cracked. We ordered a replacement screen assembly using the part number off the HP part surfer website.
Upon installation the touch screen now does not work either in UEFI or win 11. Device manager under the "intel Precise touch and Stylus) menu notes "This device cannot start (code 10) Status_Device_Power_Failure".

I've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps like reinstalling the driver, uninstalling...

        A1502 screen only issues
        by aazjo
I have a MBP A1502 (early 2015, 820-4924) with a screen that will not turn on. I have swapped screens with a cracked test screen and the computer boots and the cracked screen works for both backlight and image. The black/blank screen appears to do nothing.

I have collected resistant data from the cracked screen connector pins and submitted to OBData server:
