    PFC cap for a KAS200

I've been having a lot of trouble locating a 474k 450v pfc film cap for my polaroid flm-3701. It is used as the Primary for the KAS200 power supply.

I've tried all the usual sources : Mouser , Digikey , Lcdalt., etc...
    and to no avail.

The problem I seem to be having is in the Lead Spacing (Pitch) - 20 mm.

The ones I can find that are even close are either a space/dimension issue or I have to create a rather large lead bridge/crimp (approx. 5mm).

If anyone has or knows where to get one, please let me know.

I have attached some pictures as a ref. with the best specs. I have.

I appreciate any help I can get, Thanks.

if I'm not wrong, you can get it from broken fluorescent ballast if you don't mind to use secondhand caps. thanks for my town has many range for those film caps .

I like to get a salvaged part from these and playin to see circuit designed. there has 152, 104, 682, 474, forget the others (on 1KV range and up).

Re: PFC cap for a KAS200

        Thanks for the help.

The one from Mouser has a 10mm lead spacing, unfortunately I need something just like that with a 20mm.

I just ordered one with a 15mm - the closest I can find.

I'll see what it looks like and see if maybe I can bridge it to fit.
I'll let you know what happens.

        Thanks

            I think a 600/630V unit would fit.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

So I bought a replacement Cap from Mouser:
              http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...c/ECW-FD2W474K

Success, the 5vdc standby has now been restored !!!

Didn't realize it but, in my original pic. it had already been removed
              (sorry BUDM ) my mistake.
I have attached a better picture.

Although the dimensions are a bit smaller than the original, I was able to bridge the leads to fit the original pin hole design of the board.

The PSU is still not working properly - it has almost no output voltage.
              But, that's ok - it's a start.

As such, I am going to transfer my follow-up issues to a new post entitled
" Polaroid PSU output power "

I want to thank everyone for their help and input -
and hope to see you there.

                BUD M

Thank you for that OEM KAS200 (sch).

I'm not sure, but I believe that mine may be an - " LC-37K5" PSU
The values and track-line seem to be a little different for the " 5s241812xL "
as opposed to the normal LC-37K7 units and/or schematics that I have been able to find.

                Any thoughts ?
