hey, ive got one of these power supplies in a tp-link 16 port enterprise router, it has 3 bulging teapo 2200uF 16V caps on the output and still produces 3.3v with no load (albeit with a horrible whining noise). when i plug it into the switch however it (the switch) power cycles and the power supply drops to .6 volts. i was wondering what would be good replacement capacitors for these teapo ones (Pictures coming soon, when my phone charges)

I recommend Chemi-Con KY, KZM or if you can get them, Chemi-Con KZN.My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics. -

They're 12.5mm dia, so you might have to squeeze them in place to make them fit as the teapos are likely 10mm dia.Comment

Re: Hunt-Key HDZ0111-3A
Use Panny FK. They're just as reliable, if not more so, and they offer a 2200uF 16V cap in 10mm diameter.

I use those all the time when replacing those 10mm teapo caps.Last edited by c_hegge; 06-26-2013, 05:46 PM.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

Assuming the Teapos are SC series (which are most common in PSUs), they are rated for 1780mA. The Panny FKs have 2140mA.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

Re: Hunt-Key HDZ0111-3A
I gathered that. I was just saying that the RS are only 30mA off, which is not enough to worry about. Panny FK aren't that hard to find in this country. Both major online distributors (RS and element14) carry them.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

Re: Hunt-Key HDZ0111-3A
Gotta love Jaycar, do they have the same no-name S.I. caps up there too? I guess it costs them too much to buy genuine Panasonic or Rubycon (or even crappy Teapo for that matter).Comment

They likely aren't low ESR, even if they say they are.Muh-soggy-kneeComment

Re: Hunt-Key HDZ0111-3A
Or they can very well also be too low ESR. Have anone paid attention to what I have said? That is 3A 3,3V PSU! Usually there is like 330 uF *total* for such output and here are three big caps.Less jewellery, more gold into electrotech industry!Half of the computer problems is caused by bad contacts

Try loading it, sometimes it whistles if there is no load. You haven't posted any inside images so we don't know whether there are minimum load resistors. But I doub't it, or if so, than only very small as it's completely passive…Less jewellery, more gold into electrotech industry!Half of the computer problems is caused by bad contacts

Re: Hunt-Key HDZ0111-3A
The whine could be normal then. However, it is worth it to replace any little electrolytic capacitors, they could be causing the whine. Again, it could just be a loose winding, vibrating around.Muh-soggy-kneeComment

by Natob82Great to be here! I'm a newbie here trying to find a "micro", momentary push switch to repair a Sony "clamshell" video walkman. This micro switch has long since discontinued by Sony, however I hope there are third-party switches of the same size and functionality that I might be able to source to play the same role. The purpose of this switch is to tell the video walkman that the user has activated the mechanical tape eject button, turning that physical action into an electronic signal that tells the tape transport mechanism to open so one can load or eject a video tape. I...

by grimacelordHello,
I've been working on a NEC TurboExpress and I accidentally got the plastic inside the power ON/OFF switch too hot while doing other repairs and melted it. At first, it would still power on when sliding the switch, but you had to really press inward while sliding to get it to work.
I removed the switch component and tried to gently melt the plastic back so it would work more reliably and all I managed to do was make it worse.
I need to find a replacement On/OFF switch for this, but having some trouble figuring out which kind of switch I need.... -
by SluggerBI have a very small float switch, I'm using in a very small tank. It only fits in one way. Link https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Switch.../dp/B07DZ1J2GB
I want the switch to be open when the water is high, and closed when the water is low. Unfortunately it works the opposite. And since this switch is designed to be underwater, it's all sealed up, there is no taking it apart or hacking it up.
It will be driving a water pump, basic idea, when the water is low, switch closes, which turns on water pump, when enough water is in the tank, float switch floats,... -
