    Antec SL350 Re-Cap

Looks like these have been quite popular to re-cap over the years here.
I have a unit that been running 24/7 (mostly) for the last 6 months.
Before that it was used in my HTPC for about 6 months and before that for a few years in my desktop/gaming PC before upgrading.

I seems like a decent unit and has served me well over the years but has been let down by those dreadful fuhjyyu caps.

So I have ordered Mostly Panasonic FM and FR or Nichicon or Rubycon depending on size and availability. I used this excelent post as a reference: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=89628

I'm confident soldering so should be ok squeezing in the larger Panasonic caps (12.5 vs 10mm)

Also I noticed the Panasonic FR's no longer have the [M] on them. Is this normal? The caps came from Element14 so they should be legit.

Maybe manufacturing mistake? If not, I don't think that is a good sign. There is no manufacturer name on that is it.

No, the Panasonic FR don't have the M on them. They're legit, it's just how they make them.

See pictures below. Genuine FR caps.
(i like to keep my caps nicely packed, sometimes I use paper tape to hold them in place. lately, i just use matchboxes)

Yeah, I like this little supply. I recapped one years ago and it's still going. I just swapped it into a friends system whos cheapy supply died.

In regards to the [M] on the Panasonic caps, I believe the previous information is correct, in that the FR do not retain the [M], but the FM and FC do... I believe the TS-ED's I use to replace main-caps also retain the [M].

              Re: Antec SL350 Re-Cap

Well, took me alot longer than expected to get around to doing this, but once I did it was pretty easy.
As some of the caps were panasonic 12.5mm diameter and trying to replace 10mm originals I do have a few sitting a few mm higher than i would have liked.

The thing works just as it did before but i feel better knowing its not a time bomb anymore.

The only thing of concern I noted was a crack in this green cap near one of the leads. Should I be concerned about this? See the atachment.

              Cheers.

                Re: Antec SL350 Re-Cap

Its negative thermistor (NTC) for removing current spikes when you plug it into electricity/turn it on. And it doesn't matter at all, the interesting stuff is much more deeper inside.

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
                  by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                  by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1 BIOS repair
                  by aa10aa10
                  Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....

Panasonic part number in service manuals
                  by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

                  Thanks....
