Earlier threads pictured Macrons that were pretty ordinary. I have a Macron MPT-461 that is finished very well, internal layout is neat, neat cabling, the heat sinks are gold anodised and both power input and the fan are plugged to the assembly board making it very easy to remove. Very good impression of quality. The caps however are Fuhjyyi at the input and all low ESR are perhaps GL, very hard to decipher, a curly G and a long base to the L that curls up at the end. Sorry no cap shot. I am not messing this unit because it belongs to another. I would suspect the output caps.

Re: Macron MPT-461
To davmax,
I have been given the above same model power supply, (thanks for the photos) however I want to fire it up to test the voltage rails, before I connect it to a motherboard.
I have several old HD and CD ROM drives I can connect to it for a load, and several DMMs.
But I need to know which wire ends I need to connect together to get to fireup.
The older ATX power supplies used Green and Black wires.
Which colour wires do I do the same with this power supply, as seen in the above photos.

Re: Macron MPT-461
I have a Macron 251 labeled gray for the 'on off'.. Oh, just looked at the pictures, and what do you know? They labeled the gray 'PS ON'. Yah think that might be it? I didn't find a green wire on the motherboard connector on mine, so I think it must be the gray wire...

Re: Macron MPT-461
Davmax, you haven't described the symptoms ....
I have four Macron MPT-4012's with identical failure - the pair of ultrafast diodes (UF2007 - 1000V 1A) designed to protect the FETs have gone short. And they are tight under the heatsink assembly (the lower one in your pic) which needs to be removed for access - I can't think of a worse place for service access.
PS how's your FP737S going?Friends don't let friends buy Samsung ....Comment

by momakaThis one should make @Pentium4 smile
(if he is still reading BCN forums) – I got a new old stock / open box Casing Power MPT-301 PSU on eBay for $4 total.
Yes, it’s a very generic-looking box, but the manufacturer isn’t (at least not back in the days), which is…
Macron Power Technology Co. LTD.
Let’s look at the PSU itself.
The shell/case also appears quite generic, like many “sold-with-the-PC-case” units. However, the shell is well-formed and has decent steel thickness. In terms of... -
by ahoonidHey everyone,
I bought a MacBook A1990 with no screen. I bought it knowing the motherboard was defective but wasn't sure what the problem was until I received it. It actually turns on but as you see from the attachment, it has vertical stripes, on an external screen!!
The board is neat. Not opened before for sure. Just a little dust, nothing more.
Recovery using wifi can be opened, as can also be seen in the photo but it doesn't go all the way through after connecting it to a wifi. It downloads the initial Recovery files but never completes the rest of the... -
by scubacamperI found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... -
by Byte_76I have a seemingly rare 486 motherboard which shows no signs of life.
The Motherboard is marked with the labels B887 / 8 / 9 AI, which seems to be a Mecer branded board.
With an AT power supply hooked up, the power supply turns on but the board does not post, there is no beep and there is nothing displayed on the post analyser card, whether it's plugged into a PCI slot or an ISA slot.
I found a thread on Vogons of someone else who had the same board in working condition.
What I've tried so far: (In each case, the symptoms remain unchanged as...9 Photos -
by nick122Hi everyone!
I’m trying to diagnose (and perhaps even upgrade) this Chieftec (Delta rebrand) power supply from an old rig
The computer just stopped turning on one day. No explosions, no magic smoke, it just died.
There is no 5vsb, and nothing happens when I try to jump start it, it’s completely dead…
I took it apart and nothing looks out of the ordinary. The fuse isn’t blown and the main cap gets charged (found out the hard way lol)
The caps are mostly ltec with a samxon primary, none of which are bulging
Any ideas what I should look... - Loading...
