Chieftec (Delta) GPS-450AA-101 A repair and possible upgrade options?

    Hi everyone!

I'm trying to diagnose (and perhaps even upgrade) this Chieftec (Delta rebrand) power supply from an old rig
The computer just stopped turning on one day. No explosions, no magic smoke, it just died.
There is no 5vsb, and nothing happens when I try to jump start it, it's completely dead…

I took it apart and nothing looks out of the ordinary. The fuse isn't blown and the main cap gets charged (found out the hard way lol)
The caps are mostly ltec with a samxon primary, none of which are bulging
Any ideas what I should look for next?

    5vsb controller/switcher - TNY268PN
    pwm controller - ST 3845b
main switching transistors are a pair of infineon SPI2S60C3, probably in two transistor forward
I can't quite tell what's going on on the secondary, but I assume it's just a bunch of schottkies. I have to desolder the heatsink in order to take a closer look

Probably there is no 5V, because the TNY268 is dead. And if that's dead, nothing else will work either.

Could also be a problem with the startup capacitor.

Or the output diode on the 5Vsb is shorted. So you got 3 things to check.

Alright, I'll make some measurements. Thanks guys!

Update: It looks like the TNY chip is fried. Ordered a replacement

Good But check the output diode and the startup cap, also. before installing the new TNY.

Already did, everything measures fine. I might recap the whole unit just for peace of mind though, as the psu is almost 18 years old at this point
