2SC1741 (look up the spec for it) is a NPN transistor, not sure about the pin out, if you look at it with the flat side facing you, left pin will be E, then C, then B. This is typical pin out for Japanese transistor. There is also a surface moounted transistor with the Emitter leg connected to the Gate of the MOSFET also

      Re: Canon i850 PSU Trouble

If it is acceptable to test the SMD transistor at Q203 while on the board and the legs are as labeled in the attached image then this is what I get for that transistor

      Red on - Black on
      E - B 743
      B - E nothing

      C - B 730
      B - C nothing

      E - C nothing
      C - E nothing
If I do these last two in the reverse order, i.e. first red on C - black on E, I get a reading that climbs when doing red on E black on C. I don't know if this is a problem or is only occurring because it is still in circuit.

Canon TS8350a waste inc container reset
        by Catisfaction
        Hi all,
since my second device of this model number now died due to Canon being service unfriendly, I'd like to reset the counter myself.
This model of printer seems to be on non of the eBay sellers and other suppliers support lists for the Canon Service Tool. Other forums suggested the v5103 version of the tool, which did not work unfortunately.
Has anyone maybe experience with this exact model?
        Thank you!

Canon TS8350 Screen Freezes on Power On
        by joaquinmjuan
Hello, I have a Canon TS8350 printer. The problem is that when I turn it on, "CANON" appears on the screen, but it never goes away. You can leave it on for a whole day, and it doesn't go away. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried unplugging it, but nothing. I've also tried holding down POWER, but nothing. In fact, once it turns on, it can't be turned off with the Power button. I've also held down Power and then plugged it into the Power supply, and the power light flashes once and doesn't turn on, but then when I press Power again, it turns on. Currently, it's a nearly new paperweight,...

        Canon DR-1210C flash dump request
        by bamdad61
Dear folks, recently got a canon dr-1210c and it worked perfectly just for one day. Right now it shows all possible errors on the screen and do nothing. I tear down the device and found a 32 pin plcc flash chip. I thought reprogramming firmware might be helpful. The firmware update file from canon support include a dll file which doesn't help. So if anyone has the dump it would such a great favor to share.

        Canon Pixma MG2550S dump BIOS
        by shybear
        hi,
I've here this printer that is "locked" because Ink Absorber waste ink Counter is full so when I power on it give a sequence of 7 blinking orange LED in sequence with green power ON led.
Reading a lot over Internet it seem that is an "use&trash" model so there isn't a way to reset manually this counter and also seems that it is not possible to enter in Service Mode status to reset with Canon Service Tool utility.
This is really suck because I cleaned already the printer and bought both new cartridges!!!
Working around for a while I finally...

Canon G3430 has a lightning flash after the firmware
        by zoltor
Good afternoon. The Canon G3430 is lit by lightning after the firmware, it does not respond to the buttons. I did not flash it, they brought it with traces of soldering, and all three chips. SPI - IC401 25Q128, IC402 25Q32, IC403 M24128. The SPI flash drives may have been confused in places. The QM8-0985 formatter. I've tried all the firmware available on the Internet, and the result is the same. I ask you to send dumps of chips, if someone has the same revision of the board, also tell me if the location of the SPI flash corresponds to the position numbers. Thank you very much in advance.
