    Antec Truepower 2.0 550W

Hi all, I have an Antec Truepower 2.0 550W PSU which has given sterling service for 4 years but now need's the fuhjyyu (not sure I've pronounced that right ) caps replacing. This is a UK unit and seem's a bit different to some of the pictures I've seen on this forum. But my problem being R117 has got a bit hot and I'd like to replace it. But the colour bands have burnt off (see picture). I don't suppose anyone has the lid off of one of these at the moment and could let me know what value (colour) it is?

    I had the same problem:

    I left it unchanged.

Spookie..... Thanks for that, if it'll work like that I'll leave it too. Or 2nd thoughts..... As it works I can measure the value an replace it. Ah-ha I love it when a plan comes together.

        It measures 1.8K ohms.

I made sure after recapping it that it would stop overheating like that by modding the fan controller.

            Can I replace a 22uf 16V 105 cap with a 22uf 25v or 50V one? Can't seem to find a 16V.....

That's a minimum load resistor. They do get really hot (which makes one wonder why they decided to wrap it in heatshrink, making it even hotter). 1.8Kohm is a bit high, did you measure it out-of-circuit? If you're measuring in-circuit it might be open and you're measuring the resistance of something else. Either way it shouldn't be a problem.

No, I unsoldered it from the board then measured it. I was thinking maybe to go for a 5W ceramic replacement. At least it should handle the heat a bit better.

Antec TruePower 380p failed after intermittent supply, suspect MOV
                        by rabbituk
                        Hello,

I have an Antec TruePower 380p PSU that I had repurposed from a Sonata case. It had been working fine on a server in the loft using the Wake-on-LAN feature regularly until a couple of recent power outages where the power became very unstable - going on/off very quickly. There is now no output whatsoever from the PSU & fan isn't working. There was a pop when I attempted to turn it on.

Upon examination, it appears that voltage isn't getting very far so I believe the immediate issue is within the first stage. There is a green component that I am not familiar...

BeQuiet Dark Power Pro P10 550W PSU: Missing 5V Standby
                        by peter21
                        Hi there,
a friend of mine gave me a BeQuiet Dark Power Pro P10 550W PSU.

The problem: The PSU simply switched off during operation and never came back on.

                        My observations / measurements:

I opened the housing and checked for obvious damage -> negative. Visually, everything seems fine.

                        Lowcost power supply tester (China):
No result. The power supply does not turn on and the tester keeps off

Next, I measured the 5V standby line (pin 4) on the ATX connector.
                        Result: Not present (!).

                        Obviously this seems...

Topcat's Supermicro X10DAI Build - Plus NVMe BIOS Mod Inside
                        by Topcat
Yes, I know I don't post this stuff much anymore....the only reason I'm posting this one is because of a NVMe adapter incompatibility; seems rather planned by Supermicro.....or I'm atleast a bit suspicious. It's plenty new enough to have a UEFI bios but a short 'happy list' of NVMe controllers that will work with this board, as if by some 'miracle', all Intel....so lets start at the beginning; we'll get back to this later.

Of course the motherboard is as the thread title states; X10dai....but we'lre going to have some fun shoehorning this into a modern 'gamer case' that can actually...

Antec Earthwatts EA-380 smd element type/value
                        by sirpsychol
While recaping Antec Earthwatts EA-380 I've broke one side of unknown smd element, it have no print, it's flatter and darker than smd capacitors on this board, shaped more like resistor but it's not resistor ofc. Unfortunetly the printed description was under it and element was glued to the board so I cant read/tell the letter before element number too. Have anyone any idea what it is? Maybe is there any diagram of this PSU?

                        Picking caps for Antec SU-380
                        by ajdrenter
In my search for a proper 5v heavy ATX power supply, I selected an old Antec SU-380 that I've had in storage for a long time. Opening the power supply reveals a couple bulged capacitors. I removed all the caps and made a map for myself. I found the datasheet for the PCE TUR series in this thread:
                        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14159
It says these are general purpose, so I assume I can replace them with any general purpose capacitors, but I don't really know anything about power supply circuits or reading capacitor datasheets. Despite this, I've been shopping for replacements:...
