Are Zippy a recommended brand? I searched and found a few posts that said they used Nichicon-Rubycon, but I wanted to make sure, in case of any changes.

They are a recommended brand yes, they use good capacitors..."The one who says it cannot be done should never interrupt the one who is doing it." -

Re: Zippy PSUs
I have two in use. If you are in The States and would like a vendor recomendation, post or PM will get it as I don't want to come off as a promoter. The HP-2 6460P & HG-2 6400P are what I have. A recent review of the big brother http://www.overclockers.com/articles1313/
The only area Zippy comes up short in todays maketing is efficientcy. Here is another review. Please note what Edward Chang has to say(EE for Zippy/Emacs) http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=281
For desktop use both mine have been modded for external 92mm fans @ 48cfmComment

Re: Zippy PSUs
Yes!!! Zippy is a real fine brand!!
Although I heard rumors that Zippy gets there caps from 2 manufacturers....
TEAPO and Nichicon-Rubycon?
Probably no truth to that.
Since most people creack there Zippy PSU open anyways to replace the fan that sounds like a jet engine!!
Have a nice day!!Comment

by AJ847.63eHi Folks,
Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?
I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.
The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't... -
by aurgathorI have an older SFF Dell (GX620) that I want to turn into a router, but it has a few *really bad* looking electrolytic caps (4x 2200uF 6.3V & 1x 1800uF 6.3V) that need to be replaced first.
Questions:
1. What are some the recommended caps for these values? (I will probably order from digikey)
2. Looks to me there is enough space for slightly bigger caps -- would I gain anything with respect to longevity by using 10V caps instead of 6.3V caps? (I guess I probably need to look at the current voltage with a scope since I do not know the nominal voltage of that r...-

by al3m0diUpdate bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW for solving The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter
I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15imh05a device that I bought used online. It came with a 20V 8.5A 170W charger.
The BIOS version is EFCN58WW.
When I turn on the device, it displays the message:
"The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter..."
The device rarely charges the battery, and even when it does, it doesn't show that it's charging.
I've tried

by awe126Hello all,
I bought a Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro, A2485, 820-02100, which working flawlessly but not charging. I thought battery needs to be replaced but then started reading and it seems that problem will be in motherboard.
Battery sign has cross sign and MacOS can't read battery stats. Fans are full speed but can be set down via Fancontrol software.
I did start digging into in and found out below:
Diode mode:
SMBUS_BATT_SCL: 0.529
SMBUS_BATT_SDA: 0
SMBUS_BATT_SCL: 1.795V
SMBUS_BATT_SDA: 0.948V
Can anyone help... -
Hello everyone! :-)
A friend of mine asked me if I could repair his parents' defective PC...
Therefore, I need the circuit diagram (and if possible also the component layout) of an Intel DQ77KB mainboard.
Can anyone help me with this, by any chance?
Thanks in advance!
So long-
