Re: Is it worth $40?
Yes, but don't expect 600w out of it.
I wouldn't use it for more than 300W. And for 15 dollars more, you can get a really good 380w Seasonic SS12 II. -
Re: Is it worth $40?
That is a Shell Shocker deal. Its original price was $100.
I don't see how anyone could afford a computer that would require a 600W PSU either. I thought the economy went down the drain and people could barely pay their bills.Comment

Except for the Orion series most HEC are pretty good.
I haven't seen that one though.

Most have out of spec ripple and not-so-good voltage regulation. Better choices for the money.Comment

Re: Is it worth $40?
Hypermicro on ebay has got the Acbell 550's for $18 with free shipping. Swap the crap OST RSL series caps out of them for some Panny series and I can just about guarantee they will pull an honest 500W or pretty darn close to their rated limit before overcurrent protection kicks in. From everything I have read about them, they are built like the proverbial brick craphouse.Last edited by Evil Lurker; 06-19-2011, 08:17 PM.Comment

1) RLS
2) Pannies don't come in that size (10x25, 10v, 3300uF)
3) One of mine is past 18 months with a 24/7 P4 3.4 system (i.e. HOT) and still kicking ass. Don't poo-poo all OST's. Still have them in the VRM of a OC'd Asus P4C800E with no problems.

- So it's save now and pay later.
You will get to pay later for a very long time though.
.
Efficiency doesn't matter much on a bench testing PSU though.
Not running that much.

by SatdudeHi, I have a FSP Epsilon 600W computer PSU which had a bunch of bad caps, so I replaced them thinking they were the problem but the PSU still doesn't work. i don't have 5V standby and shorting the PS_ON to GND also doesn't turn it on. Fuse is ok and I get some inrush when plugging in. Does anyone know about any known faults in this series of PSUs?

by madyoyoHi
I have a Samsung QE55Q65B with a seemingly common problem: it turn off and back on after a few seconds, (sometimes more, and in rare instances works for hours). D001 on the left side of the panel is very hot. I may be able to remove it with a very fine iron, but i don't have the equipment to re-solder such small parts.
Is there a risk to run the tv without this diodes diodes? And is it worth to pay someone else to replace it. I read many people who ended up with bad lines after trying to remove/replace them, , or the panel failing in another way, so i want to weight... -

by Francesc V.Hi:
I am trying to repair this ATX SMPS and I realised once I've replaced the 5V IC that also the coil is gone.
Where (and how) do you look for these parts? same piece or similar that I could try to use it? is it worth it? :-)

by jguyHi guys, basically i fired up a server rack i had by my mum for the last 2.5yrs unplugged. It has a etasis 600w 1u psu and dell t1600 motherboard. It went through all sorts of random reboots and power cycling for about 2 minutes thought something was fried but suddenly it worked fine and has been even after unplugging for hours now, thoughts?03-11-2023, 02:44 AM
