    Magnovox / Philips 26MF605w/17

    Hello all,

    I'm working on a Magnavox / Philips model # 26MF605w/17 which is a 26” lcd television. Power supply part number is 313815859161.

    I'm seeking advice on choosing a replacement part that I think was a resistor. The end caps of the fried part are within 5mm of each other which makes it much different from the neighboring resistors.

    The other part which is obviously damaged is an IC with the following markings:
    TEA 15
    N5H5DO
    N5H5K5
    Hn5401
    Any thoughts why pin 6 would be fried and or why the risistor would be fried and how best to choose a replacement?

      Great, no standard part prefixes on the PCB . Whoever designed/made this power supply needs to be hit on the head 1000 times like this . It's like they thought this thing would never break (especially with the CapXon caps), so why make it service-friendly, right?

      Anyways, enough of my ranting.
      It seems that there are prefixes for the parts on the PCB (just not standard). What I've got so far: a prefix of 2 indicates a capacitor, 3 a resistor, 5 an inductor, 6 a diode, 7 an IC or transistor, and 9 for jumper/wire.

      If I'm not mistaken, looks like the burned component in question corresponds to the marks "9053" - i.e. a simple jumper/wire. This needs to be double-checked, though, because the component to the left of that is a jumper/wire marked with "6054", but according to the PCB marks, this should be a diode. Since the TV was working fine before, I wouldn't call this a mistake, but rather some weird change in design.
      Therefore, I would strongly suggest you post some pictures of the under side of the power supply so that we can check if the burned component "9053" you asked about really is a jumper wire.

      Also, was there a part installed for the spot corresponding to "3069"? If so, that should be a resistor, then. But again, a picture of the underside would be very helpful.

      Considering the failure, it's probably also a good idea to check all of the other parts on the primary side, like to check for open resistors and shorted diodes and transistors.

        thanks for the imput.

        I found a marketing picture of this PS and am including it for your inspection. it shows there is a component at the location in question; I just don't know what it might be. any thoughts?

        also attached is an image of the back side; I rotated the board up so what was originally in the northeast corner is now in the southeast corner

          Here is a picture of what this board is supposed to look like. If I read it correctly, it may look like a Red Red Brown - 220 ohm. I'd up the wattage though, lol.

            Alright, nice underside picture. Very helpful (will be using it for reference for most of my post below so have it open).

            The burned part in question seems to correspond to 3083, a resistor, as Dgtech noted (and NOT 9053 as I wrote in my previous post) - you can see the marking on the underside picture. This resistor connects the Gate of the switching MOSFET 7062 to pin 6 (Driver) of the PWM controller, IC 7061.

            Speaking of the PWM controller, a TEA1532 does NOT match the pinout that is on this board. However, these do: TEA1506P, TEA1506AP, TEA1507, TEA1533P, TEA1533AP, and even possibly TEA1541. My guess is you can use any of these for a replacement.

            Now, back to that burned resistor - I found another, bigger, picture here:

            From the picture, it seems that the resistor is either 220 Ohms (red-red-brown-gold) or 2.2 Ohms (red-red-gold-gold). According to all of the above data sheets for the PWM controllers I listed, Pin 6 (Driver) is connected directly to the Gate of the switching MOSFET. Therefore, I think the proper value would be 2.2 Ohms. (Someone with more experience on the matter, please double-check me on this.)

            Since both the resistor and the PWM controller looked burned, I would suggest you check almost everything on the primary side, particularly the diodes for short circuit and the resistors for open circuit. You don't need to remove them from the board. If in doubt about a reading on a component, ask here or remove it from the board and test it before concluding it's bad.

            Just to name a few parts you should definitely check:
            - The small red SMT diode (6083??) on the underside that is in series with the burned resistor, along with the two small SMT resistors with the codes on top "102" and "151".
            - MOSFET 7062, resistor 3081, diodes 6055 and 6056 (near the ceramic capacitor 2061)
            - diodes 6065, 6066, and 6067 (these provide the PWM controller with power).
            - bridge rectifier 6051 and the main fuse, 1052.

            Might also be worthwhile to check the APFC section, namely diode 6052, MOSFET 7057, and resistor 3059.

            That's pretty much all of the main stuff.

                Hello,

                i have many 5050sff. all of them, and how i experienced over many years for all about 250 DELLs goin through my hands, are fully flashable and can be serviced in any way when the service_mode jumper is set.
                Never ever i experienced problems with that.

                Now i have one 5050sff machine, where this jumper isnt working at all.
                I do not get the normal messge that the jumper is set when booting and a short test with FPT just confirms this. Everything is locked -->> EVEN for reading !?

                The history of the machine is that i used it in my office...

                Hello, guys!

                The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

                Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

                It does power up when pressing the power button.

                I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
                Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

                Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

                Apologies, I broke a rule and hijacked a thread, so I deleted that post.
                I am curious if anyone here owns the G8 or has good quality board shots?

                I've done some googling and curious if the 805 G8 series has some kind of jumper?!

                The 800, G3 series, much older, the maintenance and service guide, clearly talks about a PSWD jumper

                Hi,
                I'm learning electronics(already have some basics) by fixing a FH52M LA-J891P rev1B. It come from an acer nitro 5. The charger was defaulting upon pluging. The 19V rail resistance is 0ohm (I believe that caps screw my measurement). When i inject 5A, I get a rail tension of 1.3V, and 0.8V vcccore.
                Except the cpu, I cant feel anything getting warmer.
                I believe that it is normal, because the cpu is "eating" half the power I'm imputing.
                I dont know if the cpu is fried, because I did not remove the big capacitor on vcccore.
                I believe that if the cpu was fried,...
