  • Re: 32" sceptre x322bv w/ psu mp116a

looking on the back of the power supply I discovered what I'm calling pin 9 is actually labeled a ground not 5V; so now the only thing that seems to be wrong is pin 5, which is labeled PSON and has a voltage of 4.5. I've read that PSON is either 3.5V or 5V; I wonder if 4.5V is an issue.

    32" sceptre x322bv w/ psu mp116a

My tv turns on and displays the brand name momentarily and then fades out and disappears; back lights stay on, on/off indicator light stays on and remains blue (this light is orange on standby). I have checked the voltages on the power supply; All the 24V pins are 23.3V. the 12V pin is 11.9V.

Connector 2 has some voltages that deviate from expectation. in the second attached picture Con2 is at the far left (all stranded pink). I will list pin voltages left to right: 0, 0, 5, open, 4.5, 5, 5, 5, 0, open, open, open, 11.9. counting...

    thanks for the imput.

I found a marketing picture of this PS and am including it for your inspection. it shows there is a component at the location in question; I just don't know what it might be. any thoughts?

also attached is an image of the back side; I rotated the board up so what was originally in the northeast corner is now in the southeast corner...

  • Magnovox / Philips 26MF605w/17

    Hello all,

I'm working on a Magnavox / Philips model # 26MF605w/17 which is a 26” lcd television. Power supply part number is 313815859161.

I'm seeking advice on choosing a replacement part that I think was a resistor. The end caps of the fried part are within 5mm of each other which makes it much different from the neighboring resistors.

The other part which is obviously damaged is an IC with the following markings:
    TEA 15
    N5H5DO
    N5H5K5
    Hn5401
Any thoughts why pin 6 would be fried and or why the risistor would...

  • Re: Samsung SyncMaster 204b

A quick update: first of all THANKS for all the effort in helping try to pinpoint the problem.

I located another identical monitor which had a bad power supply and swaped signal cards; my monitor works fine now. I was going to log all the correct voltages throughout the good board and then compare with the non-working board but my desire to use the working monitor overrode my curiosity and I failed to follow through.

IC 304 with tab at top:

    tab = 1.81V
    left pin = 0V
    stub = 1.81V
    right pin = 3.23V

    with the tab facing up:
    left pin = 3.23V
    right pin = 2.49V

On the left of board, top down:
    IC405 9933B / W58A
    IC304 17-16 / 05481L (very hard to see)
    IC203 MP1583DN / 57975819 / MPS541

On the right side of board, left to right:
    IC301 LF25 / 6K1DT546
    IC604 CCRB / LM / 393M

    also

I've had the power off to the monitor for 6 hours. I get no momentary blue led light any more when first switching on.

    Pin 1 = 13.11V
    Pin 2 = 3.64V
    Pin 3 = 0
    Pin 4 = 3.37V
    Pin 5 = 0

The LED no longer lights on; previously I would have to have the power off for a short while to get the LED to turn off momentarily, now it won't light up after being powered off for 5 min.

first of all; thanks for all the help.

there is an IC just below CN501 (ribbon from CN2) marked IC405 (9933B / W58A). is this the IC I should get voltages from?...

I'm able to connect all components while monitor is disassembled. I've followed the above directions.

LED lights blue for one second then turns off. CCFL's don't light up, not even momentarily.

Voltages remain as reported previously and are as follows
    CN2
    #1:PWN-Dim - 0.05-volts
    #2,3 & 4 - ground - 0-volts
    #5,6 &7 - 13V - 13.11 – volts
    #8 - Dim - 0.05 –volts
    #9 -on/off -0.01 –volts

CN3 through CN6 all measure zero volts. (grounded at the nearest PS hold...

  • Re: Samsung SyncMaster 204b

I took these voltages from the power supply when it was separated from the monitor; should I have tested while all boards were attached?

I have this same power supply. main characteristic of my problem is a blank screen and power light glows blue for a short moment and then turns off. I replaced C110 and C111 with 820uF 35V which were obviously bad and I replaced the three 330uF 25V which looked OK. This did not fix my problem. I'm most curious what the power light OFF might indicate.
