  • Re: HP EliteDesk 805 G8 "PSWD" Jumper

Based on this link, it sounds more difficult than previous models.

Regardless, I don't own it, was considering an ebay purchase.Re: HP EliteDesk 805 G8 "PSWD" Jumpe...jsj402w/[/url]...

Apologies, not trying to mislead you guys.
Found one on ebay, very cheap, so it had me highly considering it.

Based on my reading, it sounds quite difficult to do this model.
I suspect, if someone does buy the one on ebay, they'll end up posting here in time!...

  • HP EliteDesk 805 G8 "PSWD" Jumper

    Hello,

Apologies, I broke a rule and hijacked a thread, so I deleted that post.
I am curious if anyone here owns the G8 or has good quality board shots?

I've done some googling and curious if the 805 G8 series has some kind of jumper?!

The 800, G3 series, much older, the maintenance and service guide, clearly talks about a PSWD jumper

I also believe it's just visible in this shot:

  • Re: Dell U3011 no display after a few minutes

Ok hello all and thanks all for this forum you people are fantastic, love this kind of stuff on the internet.

    So good news, bad news!!
Yesterdays pics - that monitor SEEMS TO BE FIXED

It was really hard to see - but there's the heat stress crack in the solder and I've re-done it and my 'really bad' monitor - seems to be perfect, wife will test it over the coming days while WFH.

Ok here's the dump of pics, I do hope they're good enough.

To be clear I'm having the same old 'monitor goes blank' issue where the light remains blue but the screen just goes dark - and it works most of the time but it's slowly getting worse

Also gallery here, if you don't like dropbox!

Final thing - the very bottom, took some snaps in diff lighting...

Buddy thank you very much - I'm going to take a crack at this !

    EDIT:
Sadly, my joints at this location look much much better than yours, so I'm about to dump a whole heap of images. I really hope someone can help...

Gentlemen, apologies for bumping an older thread, but I'm curious if anyone has isolated a common fault with this board?

A little googling and youtube, reveals it seems to be a common fault and paying around $70 to $110 US to import a board is a common fix for those technically minded.

As someone with a soldering iron and multimeter, I'd at least be willing to take a crack at repairing it if there seems to be a common component that gives up.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks...
