Dynex 400w ATX PSU: Power Good Not Lit

I installed this in a tower I was building. Runs but no post. Swapped out for another PSU - that worked.

Tested with my Thermaltake Power Supply Tester - the PG (Power Good) LED does not light.

Disassembled the PSU, no domed or leaking caps, no burn marks anywhere.

I can post pics tonight, but where should I start looking for the problem?

If it doesn't give power good then obviously the power good circuit is where you should look in. Trace the gray wire coming from the ATX connector.

Look at the switch on the back of the power supply case. Is it in the 115 volt position or the 230 volt position?

Here in the land of 115 volts AC, some power supplies with switch in 230 volt position will start, but power good signal will indicate bad. Start with the simple obvious solutions!

Everell, thanks so much. I can't believe I didn't check the 115/230 switch. YES it was set to 230!!!! Got to put it back together to be sure. Truly a D'OH moment on my part.

Just to confirm, I reassembled the PSU, set the switch to 115v, and it worked!
At least I used the opportunity to document all the cap locations and values in case I ever
want or have to recap it.

              Thanks again, Everell!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
