    Disabling UVP/OVP protections

I have a yuelin YLP-013 that I put together using some old parts (mostly parts pulled from other power supplies, 4A bridge rectifier, teapo caps, etc...) to use as a bench supply to power up various things. Problem is this thing crossloads like a bitch, and as soon as you get even a light load on only the 12v rail, the 5v and 3.3v go high and it shuts off.

Now because I will mostly be using the 12v rail I would like to disable the UVP and OVP for the 5v and 3.3v rails. Voltage regulation won't be too big of a deal as I won't be using it for powering electronics, mostly small motors and other things.

The PWM/protections IC is a EST7502B. On the data sheet, pins 1, 2 and 3 are labeled as the OVP and UVP pins for the 3.3v, 5v, and 12v respectively. Would one simply break the connection from these pins and their voltages?

    Re: Disabling UVP/OVP protections

If you break the connection you will have zero voltage thus trigger UVP.

First measure the voltage from each of those pins to ground, then cut them from the circuit and wire them to something that'll fool 'em. For the 5v protection you can use a 78L05. If you don't have a 3.3v reg lying around, a voltage divider from the 78L05 output should be stable enough for 3.3v. It only needs 1mA at most so calculate the resistors accordingly.

And btw... contrary to what they say, the 78L05 is NOT short circuit protected. At least not to the instantaneous current that a PC power supply can deliver. So be careful not to short it while you're testing the thing.

I ran into this problem as well, and found that if I put a small load on the +5V line, it worked fine. Might work for a quick fix.

Help with Samsung Microwave Cooling Fan Wiring Pins
        by jkucukov
I have a Samsung Microwave I'm looking to harvest some parts from, specifically the 120V AC motor that keeps the Magnetron cool.
From the image below, we see 3 pins on the AC motor, with AC Voltage tester all 3 leads measure 120 V with the microwave plugged in and fan not running. With the fan running only pins 2 & 3 measure 120 V.

What I'm looking to do is wire this motor up on a Air Compressor to keep the motor cool, but I need to know what is the safe way to wire it, (IE wire in pins 2 & 3 with 120 V only to get it to run?)

        Also, as its wired, when...

Where to find a very small fpc connector 0.3mm between 2 pins ?
        by corrize
Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?

        Info. about PSU protections
        by Danielsan315
Hi everyone, hope all of You are having a good day. I have a Question from protections in some of this PSU brands and models: Dell Optiplex series 745 to 380 to 390 to 7040 - HP EliteDesk series - And some new Lenovo minitower series. I don't know how to find info. about their protections [ OVP (Over voltage protection) - OCP (Over Current Portection) - OPP (Over power protection) - SCP (Short Circuit Protection) - short - OTP (Over temperature Protection)], some Internet's friend told me that Delta company buids to this brands, but not lists that information if that the client request that protections...

        Help disabling scart pins
        by waigy
I'm using this freeview receiver with this scart adapter.

When you plug in the scart adapter it routes the audio and video outputs to the rca connecters and it disables audio on the freeview speaker.
I want to use the video rca connecter but not the audio rca connecters.
This will mean it will play sound out of the freeview speaker and send video to the adapter.

If I remove pin number 4 (audio earth) from the adapter will this do what I want?
