    Optiquest Q9 Board "ILPI-025"

I've had this for some time and I took out all of the caps when I didn't know better and now I want to know which caps and series come with this board.

Doesn't list all the caps but it has some.

      Re: Optiquest Q9 Board "ILPI-025"

I just opened up an Acer with this board (ILPI-025 RevB). Mine has 4 big caps, in an arc. Starting with the one closest to the AC inlet, mine are 470uf, 25v (C502); 470uf, 25v (C817); 1000uf, 25v (C815); 1000uf, 25v (C818). There are also 3 small caps (6mm), which are: 47uf 25v (C820)(C827)(C807).

      Hope this helps.

(not sure what's wrong with my board - caps "look" good. Did you find anything interesting on yours?)

      Thanks

What is wrong? Does the power LED come on? With a computer connected, can you see the display if you shine a flashlight on it?

Can you list me also the brands and series for each cap:

          C501
          C817
          C815
          C818
          C820
          C827
          C807
          C702
          C713
          C701
          C707
          C705

In total there are 13 caps on the board (Including the big primary cap).
          Much obliged.

            Re: Optiquest Q9 Board "ILPI-025"

Ok, here's a picture, I thought I could make it easier, since our board revisions are slightly different and the board numbering seems to be off:

            1) C501
            2) C817
            3) C815
            4) C818
            5) C820
            6) C827
            7) C807
            8) C702
            9) C713
            10) C701
            11) C707
            12) C705

Ignore the capacitors that are there. I replaced them with inedequate parts when I knew no better.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. Here are suitable replacements, all by Panasonic (Except for the primary), from Digikey, all in stock:

                12) http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...&name=P5543-ND

And the primary, if you're interested in replacing it too:
                http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=565-1481-ND

Highest length I went was 20mm, which is the height of the two larger heatsinks, so they should fit just fine.

On my board C701 is "Suscon SK" not "Teapo SH". I still have that one original on my board. Not to worry, they're both general purpose caps anyways, most likely interchangeable, all I had to do was either match or slightly exceed the ripple with a higher quality part.

                  Re: Optiquest Q9 Board "ILPI-025"

I found the caps I removed, it appears that they did indeed use the Teapos and Suscons interchangeably (And probably why yours lasted longer than this one - a testament that Teapo is in fact superior to Suscon). Just to compare to your list:

                  1) C501 - Su'scon 470uF 25V SG - 10mm x 17mm
                  2) C817 - Su'scon 470uF 25V SG - 10mm x 17mm
                  3) C815 - Su'scon 1000uF 25V SG - 13mm x 20mm
                  4) C818 - Su'scon 1000uF 10V SG - 10mm x 17mm
                  5) C820 - Su'scon 47uF 25V SH - 6.3mm x 11mm
                  6) C827 - Su'scon 47uF 25V SH - 6.3mm x 11mm
                  7) C807 - Su'scon 47uF 25V SH - 6.3mm x 11mm
                  8) C702 - Su'scon 470uF 25V SG - 10mm x 17mm
                  9) C713 - TEAPO 10uF 25V SH - 5mm x 11mm
                  10) C701 - Su'scon 220uF 16V SK - 6.3mm x 11mm
                  11) C707 - Su'scon 470uF 16V SK - 8mm x 11mm
                  12) C705 - Su'scon 470uF 16V SK - 8mm x 11mm

Thanks to mockingbird for the Digi-Key links! I'd been about to buy a $12 capacitor kit from this page:

                      http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php...q19wb-monitor/

That's where I found simple instructions & videos on how to perform this repair. But I saved five bucks by ordering the seven capacitors that I needed from Digi-Key using the links that I found here. So all in all this li'l project cost me $25 for a 40W soldering iron, lead-free solder and desoldering braid from Radio Shack, plus about $7 including tax & shipping for the seven capacitors from Digi-Key. I could've bought a new ILPI-025 board on eBay for about $25, but what fun would've THAT been?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

Replacement caps for Samson Resolv studio monitor 65A Amp board.
                        by black6host
                        Good day!

I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...

My 3.5 years old monitor (BenQ SW2700pt) started to black out for 1-2 sec every minute or so, it was doing this even with PC disconnected from it. I searched online and read that it's probably aging capacitors and there's a workaround to lower the brightness.

I lowered it from 100 to 65% and it indeed helped, but after a couple of months the issue returned... I continued to lower the brightness, but it helped only for a couple of hours at most, then I needed to lower it further... Turning the monitor off and waiting for it to cool down also helped for a short time, after which it...
