    Re: Viewsonic Q19WB

Ok found the problem. Got to looking and it appears I bent a pin for the video cable on the logic board

Having been down this route with warehouse-bought CPUs at work I'm pretty sure I can't fix it without a pin straighten tool, not without breaking it anyway.

    Anywho, thanks for the help.

All were Panasonic. 10 were FM, 1 FR, 1 M.

Below are links to pics for my logic board. Due to size restrictions I've uploaded them offsite.

    No, it's nowhere near that.

Below is a pic of what it looks like. Note that the vertical bars are NOT present when a normal picture (ie my background) is on it and the background hue sort of flows from right to left.

Aside from a few flakey pixels that unstick with a light tap, the screen itself should be fine....

First thing I checked was the cable. Same problem using a different cable on a different computer.

Isn't the pinkish hue supposed to only affect white and bright colors? Is there any way to test the CCFLs without canniablizing another LCD?

I replaced all but the biggest cap and reset the monitor settings but still have a heavy red hue.

    Any ideas?

Could the larger cap be causing that?

    started a topic Viewsonic Q19WB

    Viewsonic Q19WB

Classic 2 second on then off. I can usually turn it on/off a few times and it'll eventually function normally. This morning I finally got tired of dealing with it and pulled the thing apart. Below is a high-res of the power board.

The only capacitor that was obviously bad was C815 (1000uF with blue coat in center) which had a bulging top. I swapped it out with Radioshack's finest (garbage) just to see if that was the problem. Now I get a grainulated picture with a heavy red tint but it does appear to be (somewhat) stable.

First and foremost, does anything else stick...
