    fsp atx-300pa good enough?

im doing what is typical to oem companies. use a low-wattage, good quality power supply. why? because i feel like it!!!

that said, will this 300w power supply be enough for thi system:
    -amd athlon 64 dualcore
    -2gb ddr2 ram
    -80gb sata hdd
    -geofrce 7600 pci-express
    -pci ethernet card
    -sata dvdrw
    -foppy drive
    -microatx mobo-is this ok???
i think it will be fine. the 7600 card doesnt even use a 6pin connetor. its simply bus-powered, so im not too worried!

Can we have a picture of inside? Some of FSPs models are pure gutless wonders.

A genuine 300W PSU should be enough, as long as it's nothing like this FSP

no- its way better than that piece of junk! wow i cant believe fsp even put their name on that shit. no this one has real heatsinks, an 80mm fan, and thermal control. but the caps are ost and teapo, but it has dual 470s on the primary side.

that fsp you linked to reminds me of my okia 500w i blew up

OK then, it should be fine for that system then.

              Re: fsp atx-300pa good enough?

Your power supply might be using the FSP3528 pwm chip. It might blow up your computer. But you can't replace the FSP3528 chip because it is a propriety remarked chip! You can't order them from Mouser or Digikey. So you have to be careful or your power supply might end up like this.....

More like "Mickey Mouse" power supply.

Here is a drawing of the FSP3528 chip from a Fortron with a huge black hole in the middle! As can be seen from this "modest" drawing, it is no wonder that your computer might blow up!!!

Yes shovenose, the Fortron power supply with the FSP3528 that the drawing was made from DOES have a huge black hole in the middle of the circuit board.

I highly reccomend the HEC 250 SR-T, not only is it a worldwide famous power supply some might say its the power supply that saved america, i use it in my tiny case with a 3.4ghz Pentium 4 HT that runs OS X so i can run PowerPC games using Rosetta thus wasting resources and saving america.

It has occurred to me that perhaps you did not understand what I meant by your fsp pwm chip having an ion ram scoop. See pictures below
