  • Its a bit of both, I got the cooler on sale back when I had the 2700x for only $76 back in 2020, its been working great since but even with a all core load on the 2700x with the stock wraith max cooler it would start throttling and this most definitely helped. the model I got was the auraflow x by ID cooling its fairly basic but did come with the 3 fans with RGB in the hubs.

    The last AM4 upgrade

Back in 2017 for the launch of Ryzen I bought an Asrock x370 Killer SLI/AC and Ryzen 1700 motherboard combo from newegg, it was a good deal but I didn't think it would last me so long. I originally had 16gb ram a EVGA GTX 970 latter the 970 was replaced with a EVGA GTX 1080 and finally a Nvidia Geforce 3080 Founders Edition. the CPU went from a 1700 to 2700x, 3900x and now finally to a 5950x and I got 32gb ram. I still cant believe how long AM4 lasted and the 5950x was $348 with tax included from antonline using the 20% presidents day coupon. I got a ID cooling 360 water cooler on her and shes...

  • Asrock DeskMeet return of the bad caps

I have had good luck with asrock products but with that said I ordered a DeskMeet X300 to use up some other components I had laying around Ryzen 3600 GTX 1060. it comes with a 500w power supply built by CWT.

I thought CWT would use good components but no the primary cap was ChengX and the secondary had lots of chengx and JunFu caps. hope it lasts awhile. I do have a 450w SFX silverstone with teapos on the secondary I could replace it with.

Thanks for the video, that does seem involved I might do it in the future though. Also you are right about adapter size, it complained about my 130w ac adapter not being enough I ending up finding a dell 180w on ebay that works great. I tried GTA IV on it ran okay and beam.ng drive would only hit 30FPS on lowest settings....

Was dropping chromebooks off at the dump, found a 2011 iMac and a killer laptop a Dell precision m4800, it had no battery or harddrive so I bought a used battery off ebay and a amazon returned 1tb samsung 870 evo for the drive. came with a core i7 4810 already had 16gb ram and a 2gb k2100 quadro. can't believe someone would throw away such a powerful machine.

  • Re: Radeon RX 7900 Series Launched

4090s are nice but I got my 3080 founds at MSRP over a year ago and it works great for my needs. I thought about a 7900 card but hearing about the problems with the units I will probably wait for the next gen before I do anything which at that point I will have to replace my whole AM4 system and go to AM5.

    Re: GTX970 vs 1060

I got a "used" mining gtx 1060 on ebay in 2019 during the mining crash it was only $100. Its still working great and the 6gb version. Also owned a GTX 970 4gb and liked it too, I would probably go for the 970 to save money for dad unless hes a HARDCORE gamer.

  • Re: Has anyone had issues with Rayovac Alkaline batteries leaking

I like others have had more duracell leakers then any other brand, also a couple of kirkland and enegizers. I bought lots of harbor frieght alkalines the orange ones and they expired in 2020 and still no leaks and powering devices, also tried harbor frights blue alkalines to good results and rechargeable units. However I did buy some eneloops and they are the best by far.

Totally agree with you, its never fun looking for the cables later when you decide to put in a new build and have lost the extras. Maybe its just me but it also seems hard to find higher wattage supplies that are not semi or fully modular in some way.

    Re: Evga bf

Update they did send me one 8 pin cpu power cable, I put the power supply in and its running great, much quieter then the old 80mm fan antec, I'll have to put my kilowatt meter on it as I know it pulled over 500 watt from the wall loaded up gaming this one should hopefully last my x58 a good long while.

    Re: Evga bf

Ive had good luck with Seasonic, I just wanted a cheap PSU to replace the antec trupower 850 quattro in my 1366 rig. It has powered it great since 2012 but the supply is full of teapos and I don't want to risk it taking out my rig.

Hopefully they will send the cable and I can tell you all it was a great experience. Otherwise I will look to other brands in the future.

I haven't gotten the cable yet but no heres a description from the B-Stock site

See how it says accessories required to use the product, I would say a cpu power cable is a required accessory....

    Evga bf

I ordered a refurbished 850w GQ EVGA powersupply from their B Stock website deal was great a $44.99. so I get it and start to install it in my system and realize it has no cpu power cords in it.

I sent a ticket to support and heres what I got, hopefully they come through and sent me the cpu power cable....

Nice glad you went back to OSX and I have always ran waterfox on my older macs with ublock origin and had great performance, whats so funny is recently last night I just fixed my A1342 unibody like yours. I let mine sit over a year because the battery stopped holding a charge, then 2 weeks ago I went to plug it in and the battery immediately bloated moving the trackpad up etc luckily i got it out before it deformed the case permanately and last night I just put in a new battery.

The 320m is a awesome integrated gpu, you...

Just wait till the PC industry adopts soldered SSDs like the new macs then everyone will be screwed.
