Don't have to stick to PW.

    Look at:
    - Nichicon - HE or PM
    - United Chemi-con - KY or LXY
    - Panasonic FC

Be sure to look at Mouser. I just ran some total recap numbers on a few I have up on the bench and found a 20-40% savings. They have expanded on some of the above lines and 1:1 match on numbers is now possible with DK.

Examples of 3 identical supplies I have:

    11 cap values, 20 pieces:

    Full FC recap: DK = $13.44 // M = $7.96 (40% savings)
    Mix FM-FC recap: DK = $10.04 // M = $7.33 (26% savings)
    Mix PW-HE-KY recap: DK = $11.73 // M = $7.22 (38% savings)

Taking the least expensive cap for each value using the 6 above series, I can whittle that down to right around $6...

If you need assistance, speak up.

Don't bother. This PSU will always be a piece of crap no matter how much you try to improve it. The heatsinks are too thin where the components attach. The 5vsb circuit is likely a 2-transistor design - have fun finding a new motherboard when that goes toast. And last but not least, although you've used good capacitors to recap it, they may still be inadequate. Reason for that is because many of those cheap PSUs use caps that are usually too small and underrated for the application. Replacing them with good low ESR caps of the same size improves the situation overall, but not by much.
And if that coil is darkened due to the heat, it's probably toast too, so you'll either have to replace it or re-wind it.
Sorry to sound so negative. Normally I try to fix broken power supplies as well rather than throwing them away/getting new ones, but low-end Leadman/PowMax/Raidmax (such as yours) have always been an exception for me. Too much wrong with them to fix, so they're not worth the trouble. Better used as sources of components.

Like I said, there are many many older OEM power supplies from Dell, HP, Compaq, and the like which are built much better. Find a used one locally or online and never worry about it again.
