There was an issue with uploads. The server was launched from backup and upgraded os, php, and vbulletin. We just realised now the tmp upload directory and session directories changed. That is hopefully fixed. Still a few missing files.User submitted datasheet, schematic, boardview, service manual, firmware, bios, & software.Comment

Note: If you're wondering why I post PDFs of homemade schematics, it's because I'm too lazy to convert to GIF as it requires effort to make sure you scale it to a size where all text is still readable.

Laptop is not charging and not powering on.
Model details is AN515-55-517T

I have tried following the Beginner's guide to laptop troubleshooting and started by taking measurements on the charging system.
I get 19V on the PQB3 MOSFET input and nothing on the output (pardon my ignorance of the proper terminologies)
Does this point to a bad MOSFET or could it be another component?

I've been writing a program in Java that is really just a robust front end for the use of GitHiub Gists, providing a nice interface for developers to organize, maintain and access code snippets that we tend to need from time to time in our different projects.
One of the features of the program is the ability for people to share their Gists with others who use the program over a LAN or over the Internet. The program just basically serializes a Java class and encrypts it then wraps it into a UDP datastream and sends it over to another user.

I recently successfully repaired two Apple PowerMac G4 MDD power supplies by swapping out bad caps, per excellent info found in various threads on this forum - yay!
I was doing testing on one of them, the ACBel API1PC36, with it's case open and had it setup outside of the PowerMac resting on the table with it's power connected to the system (power was also connected to a couple SCSI HDD drives, for a bit extra load). It was working fine, I shut down the system but did not unplug the PS from the power strip (and power strip was left on) so power was going into... -
Well it goes without saying but you shouldn't modify electronics at the risk of causing unintended consequences. However I saw an explicit warning to purchasers of an LED bulb saying this:
"Caution: Changes or modification not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment"
Then it goes on to say that it meets FCC part 15 rules, class B, which it should.
Now the question that the warning leads to... What modification are they talking about? What magical modification would...
